Rogers is seeking an Architect  to support the core engineering division. Reporting to the Manager of 5G Technology and Special projects, at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this individual will have the following responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities

  • Guide and provide technical and commercially aware leadership to the scope, design systems, and integration projects, including architecture, project resourcing, and other elements of industrialized offerings, along with well-defined client project-specific statements of work (SoW).
  • Guide and influence technology partner and ecosystem relationships.
  • Prepare project outcomes, including presentations, solution descriptions, top-level designs, and other documentation.
  • Facilitate alignment among internal product teams, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Work with the business units to align established, initiated, and optimized business development strategies based on company targets, product specifications delivered for commercialization and monetization opportunities related to MEC, 5G and IoT.
  • Analyze and understand Edge Computing, MEC and Telco/5G, Networking and SaaS product background requirements.
  • Develop a roadmap for the responsible product and next technology domains.
  • Ability to convert and communicate complex technical and product requirements to Architects and engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering production technologies and services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver Proof of Concepts and next-generation solutions and architectures.

 

Experience And Personal Skills

  • Profound technical knowledge and experience in 5G, MEC and IoT use cases.
  • Strong working experience with 5G applications, including Telco Cloud, Open Edge Servers, Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC), SDN, NFVI, and cloud computing. Direct experience with private 4G/5G networks.
  • Practical and technical knowledge of Hyperscalers (Google, AWS, Microsoft) and their respective Edge Compute platforms and solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of 5G network slicing and orchestration.
  • Expertise in ethernet and IP networks is required: network design, routing protocols, L2/L3, MEF, and network security.
  • Expertise in 0pen-source cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes(K8S), Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Understanding of DevOps and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Executive, customer, and partner-facing skills.
  • Strong collaborator with colleagues and partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or equivalent experience. MS or MBA preferred.
  • The ability to travel approximately 10% to support demos and trials.
