Rogers is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support and manage security related platforms across a multitude of technology and applications. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Platform Operations at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of applications, services and tools used to secure desktops, servers and networks on the Rogers Enterprise Network and service networks.  This role includes collaborating with SME’s within and external to the organization to deploy software, troubleshoot issues, and provide support where needed.


Job Duties/ Accountabilities

  • Focus on management of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution at an Enterprise level.
  • Support a multi facet SIEM architecture adhering to design documents including functional and technical specifications.
  • Participating in the implementation of SIEM Solution across environments in the enterprise.
  • Providing technical support services to develop and maintain integrated SIEM solution.
  • Determining system architecture specifications and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Configuring and validating secure systems, testing security products and systems to identify security weaknesses.
  • Contributing to continuous growth and maturity of SIEM solution.


Critical Qualifications/Competencies

  • 5+ years in IT, minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in hands-on technical integration expertise of SIEM Solutions
  • Providing guidance on Enterprise SIEM solutions
  • Defining Enterprise SIEM solution requirements
  • Installing and configuring SIEM software for Enterprise solutions
  • Using the SIEM solution console to investigate security incidents at an Enterprise level.
  • Developing, defining and documenting use cases for, perimeter, application, endpoint, database, insider threats, or advanced persistent threats, etc.
  • Fine tuning of use cases to minimize False-positive for monitoring and alerting.
  • Creation of system generated reports for aggregate data or regular reporting cadence.
  • Supporting SIEM administrative content includes access rights, rules, dashboard, capacity, performance monitoring, etc.
  • End to End SIEM support working with teams and the vendor to investigate problems to resolution.
  • Support SOC investigations, help extract relevant data, and provide supporting evidence. 
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills in English.
  • Able to communicate technical points to others at the technical, user and management levels.
  • Team oriented, with extensive experience in working in complex technical projects
  • Autonomous and ability to accept responsibility with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within North America


Preferred Qualifications/Competencies

  • Experience in participating in the recommendation of security best practices for the design and configuration of SIEM Solutions.
  • Experience in participating in the definition and implementation a SIEM Solutions roadmap.
  • Technical certification with major SIEM vendors an asset.
  • Bachelor or specialized college degree in Computer Science, System Engineering or another related IT program an asset
  • Professional designation such as CISSP, CISM, etc. an asset
  • A Secret/Top Secret/Special Access Security Clearance issued by a Government of Canada agency.
