Rogers is seeking a Manager of Data Services within its Data Management and Technology (DMT) group. Reporting to Sr. Manager, Data Services at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, the incumbent will be an integral part of the DMT team and will ensure that production IT systems and services continually meet business needs in a reliable and efficient manner. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills around agile-drive data facilitation, incident and problem management, automation and monitoring, system integration and IT operations. He / She will assess and analyze complex data problems and work in partnership with business to deliver end-value to the customer and organization. 

 

What you will be doing...

  • Accountable for development and operations activities for the assigned data services/business unit.
  • Manage a diverse team of technology professionals consisting technical delivery leads, application developers, solutions designers & production support in the end to end delivery & operations of assigned business unit.
  • Manage large scale, enterprise, projects and programs with complex IT architecture and landscape involving numerous vendors, clients, virtual and offshore teams
  • Manage response to issues impacting application/data availability, stability, scalability and performance and provide ongoing support.
  • Application and support production roadmaps - support build out of new business solutions & evolution of existing functionalities ensuring they tie into the approved business & technology roadmaps.
  • Manage and be proactive in reporting, resolving and escalating issues where required.
  • Coach and develop a team highly effective team. Manage personnel utilization and contribute towards department capitalization targets.
  • Drive towards DevOps adoption and maturity.

 

What you have...

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in Managing cross functional team projects, Delivery, Operations or Support leadership role (e.g. Team Lead, Manager, etc.)
  • Strong background in Business Intelligence and production experience with Data warehousing projects and programs.
  • Proven Experience in ETL design & development, database concepts, dimensional modeling and database design.
  • Experience with most of the following tools and technologies: ETL Tools, Self Serve and data visualization tools, SAS Ecosystem, Hadoop Ecosystem, Data cloud offerings - including AWS and Azure. 
  • Prior experience with people management is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience with Agile adoption and DevOps delivery.
  • Good understanding of telecom /cable based information domains is an asset.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling, machine learning, or data mining practice is an asset.
