Rogers is seeking a Program Manager Access Networks within the Access Network PMO team.  Reporting to the Manager of National PMO, Access Networks at the Rogers Park Brampton campus, the primary focus of this position is to successfully manage the implementation, planning, and execution of a large variety of Network and Business initiatives on the Rogers Access Networks.

 

Responsibilites:

  • Manage the Implementation Planning, Execution and Closure of the Access projects dealing with the implementation of new Wireline services including Fibre to the Home, Fibre to the basement, Green Field, Fibre to the Curb, lifecycle changes of existing services, New Fibre Builds and existing Fibre augmentations.
  • Identify and manage all deliverables and interdependencies to deliver on the Business and Project/Program objectives and targets.
  • Collaborate with the Project Sponsors, fellow Project Managers and other stakeholders to prepare implementation plans and schedules for Wireline Projects.
  • Identify obstacles/conflicts and evaluate, recommend and implement workable solutions. Escalate issues to the appropriate levels within the organization to mitigate risks and keep schedules on track.
  • Negotiate and communicate with Vendors regarding equipment forecasting, ordering, deliveries, logistics and contracted services to meet overall project requirements and time frames.
  • Establish project plans and schedules for compliance with Rogers Technology/Engineering specifications and statements of work as required.
  • Schedule weekly project status review meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Provide Management with concise and timely Project/Program reporting on implementation progress, issues, risks and containment plans.
  • Develop and conduct presentations to various levels of Management as required.
  • Provide Build Status Reports and Financial updates on Projects/Programs being managed and collaborate with the Regional Project Managers on reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of project tasks & milestones outlined in the Engineering Plans and Statement of Work.
  • Manage the project change control process for any significant deviation from Scope, Budget and Documentation.
  • Monitor and coordinate major milestone approvals within Rogers. Manage resources or project escalations as required. Prepare necessary documentation for internal Rogers approvals.
  • Coordinate all activities related to Rogers acceptance of deliverables and the documentation of acceptance test and turnover results.
  • Document project completion. Ensure completion certificates (such as hardware or software Acceptance) are obtained and communicated as required during project execution.
  • Document, update and distribute the following items:
    • Project specific meeting minutes (weekly or as required).
    • Project specific financial status reporting and forecasting (monthly).
    • Aggregate project dashboard summaries (weekly).
    • Project specific plan updates (weekly or as required).
    • Update project status in Salesforce.

 

Skills required:

  • Post-Secondary degree in Engineering or other related Technical discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry with the majority of experience gained in Wireline Access Networks (Fibre Builds, Augmentation of FTTH, FTTB, and FTTC).
  • PMP Certified professional that is well versed in Project Management methodologies & concepts and having a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project Management capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the implementation of Wireline Access and Transport Network Projects. Experience in the project implementation of high speed transmission systems, i.e., SONET transmission systems, IP transport technology e.g., 10/100 Mbs Ethernet, GigE, etc
  • Ability to develop, track and monitor the execution of large complex projects simultaneously in a fluid fast paced environment with varying priorities.
  • Strategic thinker who can make decisions and plan, develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • A highly motivated individual with leadership, organizational, multitasking, troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
  • Possess strong negotiation, influencing, relationship management, communication and Business writing skills. 
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite and proficient in the use of Project Management tools such as MS Project, MS Project Server Edition and MS Access.
