The Rogers HR Systems Application team is looking for a strong IT Manager to lead and manage the HR and Real Estate Systems Operations Team. Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, this position will be broadly responsible for managing all of the HR platforms, meeting the growing needs of the enterprise, and managing a team of operational support analysts. The individual will be working with various virtual teams including, but not limited to, architecture, solution management, networking, QA support, and production support.
What you will be doing…

  • Provide production support during working hours, after-hours, weekends and maintenance for HR and Real Estate Systems
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Recommend and implement good monitoring solutions to ensure timely detection of errors and help with the resolution of the same
  • Perform triage and assist in root cause analysis for platform related incidents
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Adhere to Rogers SDLC, IT Service Management, Change Management and Release Management
  • Review and approve technical solution designs and test plans, detailed design documents, operating support instructions, operations management/deployment plans
  • Builds and maintains a strong working relationship with peers within the business lines.
  • Participate in budgeting processes and quality improvement activities for the department.
  • Managing and building SLA and KPI’s that meet business targets and optimize the customer experience
  • Manage vendor escalations as required


What you have…

  • Graduate degree and/or 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • Experience in managing both Cloud based and on premise systems including but not limited to Oracle HCM, SuccessFactor, Kronos, Oracle SOA Middleware, HR 3rd party interfaces
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Experience in managing multiple vendor relationships 
  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate, motivate teams and follow-through on initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have a proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal business and technical teams as well as vendors and consultants and the ability to take directions and plan and execute independently or with minimal guidance
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and is capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives. 
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused and attentive to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can build and foster relationships with peers.
  • ITIL Certification is an asset.
  • Experience in DevOps processes are an asset.
  • Experience with outsourcing vendor relationships


Technical Skills you possess...

  • ITIL Certification is an asset.
  • Internal experience within Rogers and knowledge of Rogers IT organization and processes strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of :
  • Web/Application servers: Weblogic, Microsoft IIS
  • Databases: Oracle 9i-12C, MS SQL
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, UNIX, Windows 2008
  • Networks: Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, SFTP, FTP, SSL
  • Scripting Languages: Perl, Shell, PL/SQL
  • Programming Languages: Java, Visual basic
