Nature & Scope:

Located at Rogers Centre, the Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Merchandise Warehouse Manager. This role requires previous leadership experience in warehouse management and shipping/receiving, a passion for coaching and developing a strong team, and the ability to work a flexible work schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior management to strategize and set goals for maximum productivity and efficiency in the warehouse
  • Provide daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual communication on the work flow & warehouse KPIs
  • Utilize a hands-on approach to train and coach staff on receiving, shipping, transferring, picking and packing merchandise, and ensure all staff are clear on the expectations for completion in each shift
  • Identify areas of improvement and propose new policies & procedures based on industry best practice
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Responsible for picking & shipping of all ecommerce orders
  • Maintain open communication and act as warehouse liaison with other retail and merchandise departments
  • Ensure that the general operation of the warehouse is carried out in the most professional, organized, and efficient manner possible
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with policies, procedures, rules & safety regulations 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintain clean shipping supply area, and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Optimize all warehouse spaces, proposing movement of stock based on the best needs of the business
  • Be a champion for Toronto Blue Jays and retail & merchandise values and culture

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse management role
  • Proven experience leading and executing data-driven efficiencies in a warehouse environment
  • Previous experience with using and periodic maintenance of a WMS system a strong asset
  • Proven experience implementing warehouse best practices, including, but not limited to, implementing loss prevention measures, creating and updating documentation policies, improving shipping and packaging efficiencies, etc.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills complemented with a friendly & professional manner
  • Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced team player with excellent interpersonal skills, striving to build a positive and professional warehouse culture
  • Current forklift license is an asset
  • Safely able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
