To provide leadership in the area of Business Continuity Management, leading the development, maintenance and exercising of Business Continuity Plans. As a member of the Business Continuity team, the successful candidate will gain cross-functional exposure to all critical business units as well as experience with interfacing/managing third party outsourced arrangements. There will be significant opportunities to provide expert advice and consultation to the Business Unit personnel on identifying risks, building Business Continuity programs and expanding on the knowledge of Business Continuity Management.


Working closely with the Senior Business Continuity Managers and the departmental primes from various functional areas across all Rogers lines of business, including Wireless, Cable, Media, Sports teams etc., the successful candidate will have the ability to:


·        Understand current business operations

·        Identify and gather requirements from various input sources

·        Leverage industry leading practices in developing, maintaining and exercising of Business Impact Analyses, Site Risk Assessments, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management and Pandemic plans.

·        Act as an advisor to the Business Unit staff on the development of Business Continuity Plans (BCP), procedures and testing

·        Participate in any required response or recovery situation resulting from a crisis/incident

·        Perform risk analysis to determine areas of vulnerability and recommend mitigation and avoidance strategies

·        Review plans and strategies on a periodic basis to ensure completeness and relevance

·        Conduct Business Impact Analysis to determine critical business processes, recovery requirements and identify resources required to meet the plan

·        Establish Business Unit Criticality and Impact Ranking Criteria

·        Advise Business Unit in identification of resource requirements to facilitate the Emergency Response Plan and BCP development


Other responsibilities may include:

·        Maintain BCP Program tracking tools such as Business Continuity library website

·        Prepare reports to measure BCP readiness and compare to standards or benchmarks

·        Promote awareness campaigns targeted at business units

·        Coordinate with Information Technology & Services (ITS) and/or third party service provider staff to ensure that platform and data recovery is integrated into the overall Emergency Response and Business Continuity plans



·        DRI designation (or working towards applicable ABCP, CFCP, CBCP)

·        College or University Emergency Management Program

·        Post-secondary education preferred

·        BC/DR plan design, implementation and exercising experience

·        Project management expertise

·        Working experience with process design and process mapping

·        Skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Project, Visio

·        Excellent communication and facilitation skills (written and oral/verbal)

·        Strong organizational and priority management skills

·        Strong leadership skills

·        Trouble Shooting Skills

·        Experience working with all levels within the organization, including Senior Management
