Manager – BI and Subscriber Analytics and Reporting



Subscriber reporting and analytics are critical for understanding customer behavior to drive growth and decision making. 


Reporting to the Senior Manager of BI and Subscriber Reporting, the Manager leads the reporting, analytics and governance of the overall subscriber numbers used for external reporting.  This role supports both finance and business in providing accurate and timely results. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading a high performing team.


Role Summary/Accountabilities:



  • Work closely with our Business partners (Finance, IT, Marketing and Corporate Strategy) with respect to subscriber reporting. This includes understanding the business requirements, intended audiences, as well as providing guidance and knowledge of the data elements
  • Develop subscriber data/reporting metrics used to make key decisions in the organization. 
  • Quality Assurance, audits, controls and documentation of KPIs
  • Question the results and lead deep dive analysis and present findings in a business friendly fashion
  • Identify enhancement opportunities within existing processes, lead change process when required
  • Design, develop and rollout Executive dashboards
  • Work with key stakeholders to define dashboard designs and rollout to ELT, SLT
  • Participation on cross functional projects - ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency and quality of all documents required for each project phase; Review and signoff on all project documents and ascertain that proper approvals from stakeholders are obtained.
  • Lead special projects / ad_hoc deep dive assignments as required
  • Coach, Develop and mentor team of Sr Analysts
  • Ability to influence and drive decisions that support department and organization objectives
  • Ability to drive change, to enhance processes that improve overall quality and efficiency





  • University degree with 5+ years’ experience with Wireless and Cable subscriber data is a must; knowledge of telecommunications business
  • An individual who is focused on delivering results with integrity.
  • Previous manager experience preferred
  • Experience building Microstrategy dashboards and reports.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a progressive Business Analytics/Financial Reporting role
  • Proficient user experience with SAS and/or SQL and relational databases
  • Proven ability to lead change and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to summarize issues and quickly solve problems balancing business objectives, timelines and costs
  • Analytical skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity and make sound decisions
  • Advanced user experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access One Note)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with peers and directors, as the role is dependent on information provided by cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise written reports
  • Driven, customer focused and result oriented individual
  • Ability to independently manage and organize multiple work activities in order to meet or exceed established deadlines and priorities.
  • Telecommunication background preferred
