Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Cost Optimization, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist with analysis, modeling and decision making support for the CBU Wireless Sales organization while interacting with various cross functional teams including CBU Sales, Controller's Group, Corporate Real Estate, Legal and Human Resources.




Support financial analysis and decisions for all Consumer Wireless Sales retail store decisions.

This exciting role is key to supporting the strategic vision of the business.  The candidate will be involved in complex business cases and analysis to support the business with strategic decisions within the retail environment.  


This includes:

  • Preparing analysis and recommendations on entire dealer buyouts.  It also involves analysis for opening new stores, closing existing locations or developing the financials to swap locations to a dealer.
  • Post implementation reviews on all projects, business cases and decisions
  • Data gathering & analysis on store profitability analysis and recommendations
  • Assist in coordination of alignment within internal finance teams (compensation, credit & collections) and external stakeholders (legal, external comp) regarding execution.  There is also opportunity to work directly on capital planning for the retail portfolio and be involved in FP&A should that interest the candidate.
  • Support business case decision making for Consumer sales
  • Support Manager/Senior Manager in development of analyses and recommendations to support the business
  • Ad hoc as required



  • An accounting designation (CPA) completed or in progress, MBA an asset
  • Previous experience working in an accounting firm is preferred (2-3 years experience)
  • Advanced Excel skills are a requirement ( i.e. building financial models and Macros/VBA experience level)
  • Candidate is expected to be a strong self-starter that is keen to learn about Rogers and the retail portfolio
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ease with communicating with various levels in the organization
  • Highly advanced analytical skills and detailed oriented
  • Knowledge of Essbase is an asset
  • Strong time management, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and objectives and prioritize effectively to meet timelines
  • Strong team skills, but ability to work independently
  • Able to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations, adjusting easily to a change in job demands
  • Telecom, SQL and PowerPoint experience are assets
