The VP, Business Systems Transformation & Regional Network Strategy is a new role on the Wireless Senior Leadership team. Reporting to the Senior VP, Wireless Product & Device the role will have accountability for wireless mobile network experience and investment strategies in addition to transforming and leading end to end deployment of modern business support systems (i.e. rating, billing, product catalogue, and other customer management systems, etc.) in partnership with key stakeholders. This position will also lead the team that works collaboratively with Network/IT and across business units, Communications, Regulatory, Brand and external vendors to build and deliver on end to end strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead End to End Delivery and Transformation of Modern Business Support Systems (i.e. rating, billing, product catalogue, and other customer management systems, etc.)
  • Define project scope, deliverables, budgets, resource requirements, process management, roles, and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and Executive Leadership
  • Partner with Digital and IT teams to define Delivery strategies (including agile) and identify implementation challenges, and keep executive leaders up to date with risks and opportunities
  • Oversee Delivery functions to ensure delivery execution, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and conduct regular operational reviews to ensure highest quality service delivery
  • Ensure full optimization of Delivery team resources and partnering with internal stakeholders to make decisions based on productivity and demand requirements
  • Ensure alignment / integration of Delivery Plans with the business teams and capture data to execute growth targets
  • Responsible for change management including ownership of Delivery documentation, communication plans, process, training, etc.
  • Evaluate complex situations in Delivery using multiple sources of information and provide resolution

Lead Regional Network Strategy

  • Oversee the business strategy for evolution to 5G, including driving innovation and delivery of consumer 5G applications and experiences for monetization, strategic partnerships, spectrum deployment strategies by market and network modernization pre-requisites
  • Own end to end product management of network product elements including 5G SA, EXT, Spatialbuzz, spectrum reframing initiatives with customer impact, public facing coverage maps), etc.
  • Determine areas of opportunity at regional/community level and stay connected to where investments are being made, the network customer experience, and how to ensure our future value proposition is tightly integrate our investment strategy
  • Develop a complete understanding of how our network experience is delivered, competitive factors and challenges overall and unique to each region and in consideration of technology and device roadmaps
  • Lead all consumer business insights and efforts to support spectrum auction inputs and the strategy and interlock with the business to deploy acquired assets for commercialization
  • Prime business efforts and collaboration across third party benchmarking partners for how our networks are evaluated and measured

What you bring:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of work experience with strong business acumen and easily conversant in multiple subject matters and functions – Previous Wireless experience is a strong asset as is an extensive experience in implementing complex business systems (i.e. rating, billing, product catalogue, and other customer management systems, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in supporting systems design and implementation in both agile, waterfall and hybrid agile waterfall development environments (and experience in understanding when to use each type)
  • Great at “story-telling” with a demonstrated ability to build strategic narratives and present multiple option sets to facilitate effective executive decisions
  • Must understand business requirements and be able to facilitate the strategic priorities that will drive growth, competitive advantage, and financial performance
  • Ability to work across the organization to influence others and build commitment to a recommended direction while managing all stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills supported by a talent for taking a wide array of information, selecting what’s relevant and distilling down to clear, simple, and impactful presentations
  • Knack for “seeing around corners”, identifying future needs and planning accordingly
  • Superior organizational skills demonstrated through project and portfolio management experience derived from leading complex cross functional projects and programs
  • Flexibility and propensity to embrace ambiguity
  • Strong people leadership skills, able to build, develop and lead a high performing team
