Rogers is seeking an Application Developer with PHP, Java and object-oriented programming experience to join the  Business IT Core team. Reporting to the Senior Development Manager at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, this individual will be responsible for R4B IT Applications, from inception through to implementation.



  • Responsible for software code development using Java, J2EE, EJB, PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, JSP, HTML/CSS, Struts & Spring framework, SOAP, Web Services.
  • Provides technical expertise for the design, development, unit testing, system integration testing, implementation and support of software applications, using existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Self-sufficient and quick starter.
  • Has extensive implementation experience.
  • Works on multiple large projects and makes technical decisions for deliverables.
  • Understands impact of integrating third party solutions to overall systems architecture.
  • Manages small to medium technical issues to resolution.
  • Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment.
  • Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved.
  • Extends the leadership of the coding, system testing, implementation and documentation of solution.
  • Very Good knowledge of "best practices" for technical development methodologies and tools.
  • Very good understanding of industry trends and practices for areas of domain expertise. 

Technical Skills & Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in Java, J2EE, PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
  • Must have work experience in Symfony, Code Ignitor, Spring, Hibernate, EJB and JMS.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Weblogic, OSB, SOA Suite 11g and Oracle AIA (DI/PIP).
  • SOAP and RESTful services / API development and testing experience.
  • Excellent web application architecture, design and development skills in multiple web technologies.
  • working in UNIX/LINUS systems and Windows Server OS will be an asset.
  • Experience working on Database platforms (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) with Programming skills in PL/SQL and basic working knowledge of Oracle DB.
  • Willing to learn New language and Technologies.
