Rogers is seeking a Cyber Security Lead - Data (Data Security Architect) to support the activities of the Telecom & Cyber Capability Development team which is accountable for ensuring Rogers complies with and conforms to various regulatory, governmental and industry security standards and requirements on our service and enterprise networks. These Rogers networks are the critical infrastructure delivering Consumer and Business services such as; High Speed Internet, IPTV, Digital TV, Wireless Services, and Enterprise services.
Reporting to the Senior Director Telecom & Cyber Capability Development at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this individual will have the following responsibilities:
What you will be doing...
- Develop architectural security patterns to secure big data and cloud platforms.
- Review existing data architectures to determine security posture.
- Conduct security capability review on data and cloud infrastructure.
- Participate and support in the establishment of 3-year security architectural roadmaps.
- Conduct planning exercise with internal Rogers teams to develop pragmatic plans to realize security roadmaps.
- Liaise with various suppliers and internal technology, engineering, and operations groups to identify security vulnerabilities on Data and Cloud infrastructure and develop mitigation plans.
- Effectively communicate information security risks to a diverse audience from technical staff to senior leaders, to ensure that informed decisions are made, and risks are mitigated.
- Build and maintain key relationships with relevant government officials, industry experts, technology peers and senior stakeholders to demonstrate the value and effectiveness of Rogers security.
What you have...
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, with an emphasis in data and cloud technology and cyber security.
- 5+ years of data security experience in complex technology environments.
- Direct experience with information security frameworks including ISO 27001/2, NIST SP 800 series, IEC 62443
- Understanding of OWASP, CVSS, the MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
- Understanding of TOGF EA framework.
- Experience with information security, cyber security, and privacy issues and awareness of regulated data environments (i.e.: PCI, SOX, FERPA, HIPAA, and COPPA).
- CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC or similar cloud certification and training is an asset.
- Effective communication skills to varying audiences, including senior executives, technology peers, and government officials.
- Able to analyze complex security issues and provide pragmatic options and recommendations.
- Strong business and technical acumen.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Can direct and manage multiple priorities in high pressure situations.
Technical Expertise…
- Fundamental understanding of architecture for data & analytics.
- Experience working with big data, information retrieval, data mining and machine learning.
- Understanding of SQL, ETL technologies, databases, and big data platforms.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure (ADF, Databricks, Event Hubs, Storage Accounts, Key vaults, Synapse) and Data Warehousing.
- Fundamental understanding of I/P/SaaS, Public & Private Cloud, Virtualization technologies.
- Familiar with security requirements and vulnerabilities of these technologies.
- Experience with data processing software (such as Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive) and with data processing algorithms (MapReduce, Spark).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline software (JIRA, Github, Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Terraform) and securing each stage.
- Experience with data formats (JSON, YAML, XML).
- Experience with streaming data tools and techniques such as Apache Kafka, Azure Streaming Analytics, AWS Kinesis, or others.
- Experience with API strategies, governance, compliance, and management.
