Who we're looking for:

Technical Product owner to join the Rogers MW Core and DAL Technology solution Team. Working primarily from our Brampton office, you will be driving middleware software design and delivery for multiple business and IT projects.

 

What you'll do:

  • Create strong relationships with other BSA team members, scrum teams, Architecture, DevOps, Product Owners, and business stakeholders
  • Work with waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Participate in the discovery and prioritization of Initiatives and Epics and break them down into manageable user stories
  • Elicit, analyze, document and validate requirements or user stories, process flows, identifying system and process solution components, producing functional specifications for impacted middleware applications as well as corresponding front and back ends
  • Gather non functional requirements on behalf of Middleware and ensure those are captured and addressed by the project
  • Identify Middleware solutions for a given project, while considering the current landscape as well as architectural roadmaps
  • Identify and highlight problem areas, gaps, risks associated with application development and potential impacts, incorporating risk planning and mitigation
  • Work closely with the other Product Owner (PO) to write clear User Stories with testable acceptance criteria for Agile projects; prepare documentation including but not limited to HLEs, Requirements Matrix, Solution Design Specifications, Detail Design Documents and testing guidelines following the waterfall SDLC.
  • Gather and provide estimates and forecasts to project PM
  • Conduct JAD and white board sessions with multiple SMEs to brainstorm the solution
  • Become functional domain SME in Middleware
  • Independently manage minor Middleware enhancements end to end
  • Work closely with Middleware technical and architecture teams, project managers, application developers, subject matter experts, end users, and Rogers' senior management
  • Work with core / legacy systems outside of Middleware to ensure smooth integration
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance teams – System Functional, Performance, User Acceptance, Business Readiness
  • Conduct project review sessions, obtain sign offs, and coordinate acceptance tests to ensure timely delivery of requirements.
  • Work on multiple projects in different SDLC stages simultaneously


What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Technology or equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Specialist or Business Systems Analyst experience in software solution and development setting  within an Agile and waterfall methodologies
  • Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and solutions, communicate effectively with colleagues (business and technical staff) and management.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into detailed Business Requirements, User Stories & Use cases
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or equivalent product management and collaboration tools
  • Understanding of application deployed on Azure cloud
  • Knowledge of  MW, Billing , Customer management & Order management application in Telecom field (eg Vision 21, CRM, Maestro)
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to build relationships, work collaboratively, and resolve problems with people at all levels in the organization
  • Experience working with external vendors
  • Core Competencies: customer service orientation; teamwork and collaboration; adaptability; initiative; analytical thinking
  • Ability to express ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner, tailoring communication to the intended audience
  • Excellent time management and priority management skills
  • Proactive, responsive and focused
  • Flexible and willing to take on new projects/roles and to contribute to the team's success in a variety of capacities
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of technical aspects of middleware, web & mobile applications; you don’t need to code but should be comfortable talking to developers
  • Software Development, telecom experience  and experience with project delivery delivery processes are bonus.
  • Ability to understand the big picture while not losing sight of the details
