Who we're looking for:
Rogers is seeking a Technical Lead, Data & AI to join the Technology team to play a key role in building complex solutions by turning data into actionable insights through conceptualizing, designing, developing analytical solutions as required. This role will work closely with the stakeholders and enable business units in achieving a world-class customers experience and an outstanding data management and advanced analytics capabilities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Data and AI Team, this individual will be responsible for the design and development of the enterprise-wide data & analytics platform to support various on-premises and cloud-based applications. This individual will be expected to lead in the successful delivery of several simultaneous projects working collaboratively with multiple Business Units, Enterprise Architecture, Security and other IT Teams. The role must also stay on top of key industry trends in data and analytics and drive innovation within the Data & AI team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the end-to-end development of data solutions, including ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and analysts to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Oversee the performance tuning and optimization of data systems and pipelines. Drive adoption of best practices in Agile development, DevOps, and CI/CD for data projects.
- Evaluate and recommend new solutions and frameworks to enhance the data ecosystem.
- Provide consultations to business stakeholders, identify gaps and needs, strategically prioritize resources to deliver solutions
- Ensure analytics platform and AI products are built in alignment with business and IT priorities while adhering to Data Governance Framework
- Manage vendors (onshore and offshore) and contractors in project delivery
- Partner with leaders in the field of Cloud Engineering and AI to bring best practices and cutting-edge capabilities to Rogers
What you will bring:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering or analytics.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end data solution development using Databricks, Snowflake.
Technical Skills
- Databricks and Snowflake development skills, architecture, performance tuning, and advanced SQL.
- Working knowledge of Oracle on-prem and Cloud databases.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, and transformation tools
- Experience with ETL/ML pipelines or integrating AI models into data workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), especially services related to data storage, compute, and orchestration.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies in data projects.
- Good understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide contract data engineers and developers.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, analysts, and architects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Familiar with agile/SCRUM/lean methodology in implementing DevOps
- Excellent organisation skills, ability to strive under a fast-paced and high-pressure environment while managing multiple projects
