Rogers is seeking a DevOps Engineer Lead to support the development and operations of a new BSS technology stack, hosted in AWS. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Operations at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this individual will be working to design, build and evolve our DevOps tools & processes within an Agile environment.  Working with both business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, you will shape designs and guide evolution of the DevOps applications. The individual’s portfolio will include automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery systems. This position requires creativity and innovation, strong communication skills, and collaborate with various cross-functional teams across Rogers


What You Will Be Doing...

  • Apply your knowledge of cloud solutions and applications in a DevOps environment to provision new environments, manage/maintain/support existing environments. Manage platform integration with all North/South-bound applications on prem and in the cloud.
  • Manage release/change management processes for major/minor releases, hotfixes and ad-hoc changes across all environments. Working closely with all stakeholders to plan for upcoming release scope and deployment activities through the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Implement/maintain automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Optimize/automate configuration management, code/patch deployment through standardized change management process and manage drift across environments.
  • Identify functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the stakeholders and knowledge of the DevOps tools and processes.
  • Track & Manage DevOps issues, mitigation plan, workaround and root causes on those issues
  • Committed to participate in job related training and on-job learning
  • Proactively identifies present and future obstacles, issues, and opportunities. Takes actions to address such obstacles
  • Ensure compliance with Rogers change management processes and security standards during all aspects of DevOps lifecycle.


Required Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of DevOps experience in designing/developing/maintaining of CI/CD experience in an agile/iterative delivery structure and is viewed as a subject matter expert
  • 2-3 years of prior experience in Kubernetes, AWS Cloud environment
  • Hands on scripting knowledge of JavaScript, Perl, Python
  • Good working knowledge of Jenkins, Terraform, Apache Maven or Apache Ant, Git, Bitbucket and Ansible etc.
  • Able to analyse logs relevant to KPIs.  Experience with CloudWatch a necessity.
  • Experience using SOAP and REST API’s.
  • Knowledge of using third party opensource business applications that use common API
  • AWS Certified candidates preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Couchbase and Camunda is beneficial but not required.

  • Motivated to improve team performance through the introduction of new ideas, methods, processes, products, or services. Develops new ways of looking at a situation.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, able to produce a variety of technical and business documents that are organized and well presented.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexible schedule willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of IT operations and security best practices in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies

Comfortable interacting with all levels of management.
