Rogers is seeking a candidate for the role of Director, Access Network Capital Expenditure Planning reporting to the VP Access Network PMO at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus. This role requires Access Wireless, Wireline, Fibre and Transport Telecommunications knowledge, strong business acumen and Sr leadership experience build the 1, 3 and 5 year plan for the Rogers Access Network. This critical role at Rogers is responsible for building the detailed annual Access Network Capital Plan for all programs, including presentations to the ELT to secure program funding approval.

What you will be doing…

  • Lead the development of large scale Access Network Programs such as the Wireless 5G uplift
  • Scope includes budgeting, authoring CAs, reviewing program specifications, and scenario modeling
  • Strategic modelling and new technology benefit analysis
  • Short to long-range network and technology planning
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Outside Plant Engineering, Implementation, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Marketing, Corporate Strategy, and the PMO
  • Works on problems that are complex and sometimes involve issues that have not been encountered before where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
  • Support new technology introduction and associated knowledge transfer
  • Lead a team of highly skilled Engineering managers that develop each of the Wireless, Wireline, Transport, Fibre and Capital portfolios
  • Regular presentations of Access Network Scope, Budget and capital requirements to the SLT and ELT

What you will have…

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Telecommunications field
  • Excellent knowledge of Access networks
  • Sr Leadership experience. Director level preferred
  • Experience building and managing large budgets for complex multi-year programs
  • Education, experience should include undergraduate university degree in engineering, computer science, community college diploma with CET certification, or equivalent experience.
  • In addition to technical prowess this position required great financial acumen and capital management experience leading programs of $1B or more.
  • Outstanding analytical and modeling skills and ability to guide others in this area
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in managing multiple, simultaneous large complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including PowerPoint
