The Director Commerce System will play a key role in helping identify and execute strategic transformative initiatives and technology innovations for improving both customer experience and operational best practices. He/she will lead the technology innovation agenda for Rogers and all its brands and be an essential part of Rogers’ strategic digital and technology transformation. He/she will play a critical role in the build-out of multi-tenant digital commerce, marketing, delivery, and operations platform that will power the next generation of digital and physical experiences for our customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide delivery and operational leadership in the initiation, design, development, and deployment of strategic digital transformative technology platforms.
  • Modernize existing tech solutions and create the next generation consolidated and optimized tech platforms and solutions across the brands
  • Define, implement, and manage an enterprise-wide innovation management process and pipeline to source innovative concepts, evaluate ideas for mission and business value, secure management support and funding for design and testing, build and pilot high-value concepts with real customers, and lead integration of proven ideas into the enterprise portfolio of products/services;
  • Strategically collaborate and support cross-functional teams to identify key new problem spaces and opportunities
  • Develop technology solution innovation in the areas of eCommerce, mobile, API, IoT analytics, and AI/ML automation; drive execution thought the lens of business-driven outcomes
  • Elevate, coordinate and execute in fast track timelines
  • Coach software engineers, architects, and managers in all phases of software development, including planning, coding, testing, troubleshooting, deployment and ongoing maintenance
  • Proactively manage the growth, training, structure and capabilities of system modernization and innovation teams, and develop next generation of technology leaders
  • Manage the performance of key technology partners involved in strategy & execution

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 Year / bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering
  • Graduate Degree Computer Science Preferred

 

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

  • 10+ year of distributed software design and development
  • 5+ year of architecture experience for enterprise systems and complex solutions
  • 7+ year of team leadership roles, which includes experience managing managers, and managing multiple teams

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Ability to apply multidisciplinary knowledge and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
