Who we're looking for
The Engagement Manager acts as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, with a strong focus on demand management, portfolio oversight, and roadmap alignment. The role is embedded in the Brampton Campus and reports to the Senior Engagement Manager.
What you'll do:
- Oversee the business unit’s portfolio from a demand management perspective by monitoring all ongoing initiatives, conducting initial assessments for new requests, and driving effective prioritization.
- Proactively engage business partners to jointly develop and maintain business and technology roadmaps and communicate funding and approval status, facilitate prioritization conversations and actions to mitigate constraints and issues.
- Act as a liaison between delivery teams, infrastructure, project management, SMEs, end users, executives, and engagement managers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Lead technology decisions during conceptual phases and guide prioritization of ideas in collaboration with business partners.
- Conduct high-level assessments (including t-shirt sizing) of IT-impacted projects, independently or with architecture teams, and coordinate with tech teams to confirm impacts.
- Ensure timely completion of assessments within SLA targets and maintain accurate status updates in JIRA and other tracking tools.
- Maintain and update portfolio roadmaps, ensuring accuracy and completeness of source-of-truth reports.
- Support capital approval processes by collaborating with business teams and owning IT cost breakdowns and impact analysis.
- Build strong relationships with business leads, tech teams, project managers, SMEs, end users, and executives through effective communication.
- Identify and resolve gaps or conflicts in gathered information, proposing viable system or process solutions.
- Manage the intake of new ideas and initiatives, identifying opportunities for business growth through innovative technologies, including AI.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the demand engagement team, applying sound judgment to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.
What you bring:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, with 5–10 years in Business Analysis and IT project environments.
- Strong expertise in portfolio and demand management, with a deep understanding of IT project lifecycles.
- Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies, including both Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
- Preferred experience across Rogers’ business lines (e.g., wireless, cable, internet, video) and their supporting applications.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Proven problem-solving and system development skills, with advanced knowledge of IT and business processes.
- Demonstrated leadership without authority, managing difficult conversations and navigating ambiguity with creativity and strategic thinking.
