About the Team:

The Enterprise Network Solutions team focuses on business opportunities that are typically complex, and non-standard in nature. We are the go-to destination for R4B teams looking for information from Roger’s Network. Much of what we do is the foundational for large enterprise networks. We provide 10G/100G/400G solutions from coast to coast and everything in between! We interface daily align solutions with different Rogers teams

Position Objective

We are seeking an energetic and proactive candidate to join the team. This position will be reporting to the Sr. Manager of Enterprise Network Customer Solutions. The Enterprise Network Solutions Planner will be responsible for supporting the intake of Business service requests. Success in this position will require strong communication skills and being comfortable with ongoing change. Having skills in Out Side Plant, and the understanding of overlaying access & transport networks is an asset. This position will interface with numerous cross functional teams.

Position Responsibilities

  • Understands existing and new access topologies as they relate to customer solutions.
  • Support Shaw integrations for the team. This will include but not limited to process discussion and documentation, Short term and long term integration planning, and R4B solutioning.
  • Be active in Intercompany activity as it relates to Network, working closely with team primes to ensure a successful delivery and tracking method for internal department service requirements.
  • Own, Manage and outline compelling opportunities to obtain buy in from other organizational stakeholders
  • Identifying cost savings initiatives and ensure the flow of information to relevant parties.
  • Collect customer requirements and design customer solutions leveraging Roger’s footprint.
  • Identify and devise new and novel approaches and methodologies relative to established guidelines to effectively manage technical, product, or business risks. .
  • Interface with internal Planning teams to develop cost effective network solutions for customers while efficiently partnering with Rogers’ network resources. The overall goal is to reduce SOI’s and provide service to customer as quickly as possible while ensuring proper support and lowest cost to the company.
  • Work with Core Network, Cost and Deal management teams to determine most technically feasible and cost effective options for customer implementation.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required.

Position Requirements

  • University degree or technical diploma in engineering and/or 10+ yrs of telecommunications experience
  • 7 years of work experience in an MSO environment is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of fibre infrastructure and technology as it relates to ISP and OSP applications preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DWDM and CWDM topologies, Transport Network design, Ethernet, and other optical network services.
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office products such as Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PPT, & Visio
  • Excellent skills in translating technical designs into high level network diagrams
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong business writing and communication skills required
  • Comfortable working with others, while encompassing inclusivity and cultivating a safe communal work environment.  
  • Self-starter and quick learner who is able to work well under pressure and tight timelines with minimum supervision
  • A strategic out-of-the-box thinker and sees the big picture
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Project management experience would be an asset.
