Who We’re Looking For

 

Our Technology Service Layer team is looking for a motivated Software Developer who is eager to grow into a Software Architect role. This position is perfect for someone early in their career who wants to build deep expertise in software architecture, product development, and modern cloud environments, while learning how to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll start by working alongside senior developers and architects, gradually building your skills in software design, coding best practices, DevOps collaboration, and secure, scalable cloud solutions. Over time, you’ll take on more ownership for designing robust architectures, guiding development teams, and driving technical excellence.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Software Development and Design (Learning Phase):

  • Assist in developing and designing software products and services under the mentorship of senior developers and architects.
  • Help create software architecture diagrams and technical documentation to communicate requirements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code 
  • Learn to clarify and break down requirements for development tasks.
  • Contribute to acceptance testing and incremental product delivery.

 

Collaboration and DevOps Practices:

  • Work closely with developers, DevOps specialist, and stakeholders to understand project goals and technical needs.
  • Learn to implement and refine DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and automated deployments.

Quality, Standards, and Security:

  • Follow coding standards and security guidelines.
  • Begin to understand how to design secure, reliable APIs and use API gateways.
  • Support debugging, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution as needed.

Agile Development and Communication:

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes as practiced by the team.
  • Document requirements using clear diagrams (UML, flowcharts) and write pseudo code when needed.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and ideas effectively with your team and stakeholders.

 

Growth Toward Architecture Responsibilities:

  • As you gain experience and demonstrate technical leadership, you will progressively:
  • Take ownership of planning, designing, and documenting software architectures.
  • Oversee secure product development and cloud infrastructure.
  • Guide and mentor junior developers.
  • Inspire collaboration and innovation through team initiatives like hackathons and new technology exploration.

  • Build cost-effective, reusable, and testable solutions that reduce delivery time and cost.
  • Learn and apply modern DevOps and automation practices for seamless delivery.
  • Champion quality through testing, refactoring, and adherence to standards.
  • Embrace Agile values and help the team deliver high-quality increments.
  • Grow your ability to communicate complex ideas simply and clearly.
  • Develop leadership skills to guide projects and foster collaboration and innovation.

 

 What You Bring:

  • Bilingual (French and English) to collaborate with colleagues on a national scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Three years work experience
  • Some hands-on coding experience (through internships, projects, or personal work) 
  • Knowledge of Linux OS, Shell scripting
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle. (ie Experience with version control systems, ticketing systems)
  • A strong desire to learn software architecture, secure cloud design, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum principles is helpful, but not required.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
