Rogers is seeking a candidate for the role of Manager, Access Transport and Fibre Planning reporting to the Director, Access Network Capital Expenditure Planning at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus. This role requires Access Wireless, Wireline, Fibre and Transport Telecommunications knowledge, strong business acumen and leadership experience to build the 1, 3 and 5 year plan for the Rogers Access Network.


What you will be doing…

  • Lead the development of large scale Access Network Programs such as the IPRAN Transport Plan supporting the LTE/5G uplift, and the Unified Fibre Program
  • Scope includes budgeting, authoring CAs, reviewing program specifications, and scenario modeling
  • Strategic modelling and new technology benefit analysis
  • Short to long-range network and technology planning
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Outside Plant Engineering, Implementation, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Marketing, Corporate Strategy, and the PMO
  • Works on problems that are complex and sometimes involve issues that have not been encountered before where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
  • Support new technology introduction and associated knowledge transfer
  • Lead a team of highly skilled Planning and Engineer staff that develop each of the IPRAN Transport and Fibre capital portfolios
  • Regular presentations of scope, budget and capital requirements to the SLT
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Regional team to build and maintain program deployment Cost per Unit (CPUs)
  • Work with Delivery teams to validate and calibrate program CPUs
  • Participate in long-term Strategy discussions and provide business support related to Access Transport and Fibre Deployment

What you will have…

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Telecommunications field
  • Excellent knowledge of Access networks
  • Experience building and managing large budgets for complex multi-year programs
  • Education, experience should include undergraduate university degree in engineering, computer science, community college diploma with CET certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding analytical and modeling skills and ability to guide others in this area
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in managing multiple, simultaneous large complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work with tight deadlines and changing environments and priorities
  • Strong understanding of Transport, Fibre and Wireless networks, including Rogers and Industry standards
  • Strong financial acumen with a focus to deliver customer-centric results
