Rogers is seeking a Manager for our CMDB (Configuration Management Database) & SAM (Software Asset Management) group to lead a team that helps ensure infrastructure service delivery is reliable and efficient through effective IT Asset Management. Reporting to the Senior Manager of CMDB & Asset Services, this individual will ensure the overall data integrity of the Asset & Configuration Management databases and oversee the related day-to-day operational activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Asset/CMDB is complete and accurate and available to support incident, problem, change and planning activities
  • Ensure that Rogers IT asset lifecycle is followed from ordering process, through asset tagging, record collection and maintenance, and disposal process
  • Ensure that asset decommissioning is performed on a timely basis and complies with Rogers policies and procedures protecting Rogers information assets
  • Ensure asset discovery is operating at 95% effectiveness
  • Ensure that Rogers has in place appropriate maintenance and support on its hardware and software assets
  • Ensure that hardware and software support procedures are articulated and communicated to those that need to know
  • Ensure that Asset and CMDB maintenance procedures are imbedded and supported throughout the organization’s run, build and operate procedures
  • Develop strong working relationships with other teams such as operations, architecture and managed services provider
  • Champion CMDB to ensure that benefits are understood and data is leveraged
  • Review CMDB reports and close and fix discrepancies through monthly audit
  • Govern services provided by outsourcing vendor and ensure adherence to SLAs
  • Continuous improvement of IT Asset management processes and Asset/CMDB data model and relationships
  • Manage enterprise software license agreements ensuring alignment between entitlement and consumption
  • Ensure that software use is optimized and be a source of knowledge on software licensing models
  • Ensure software and hardware procurement processes are meeting project team needs
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for software and hardware license, support and maintenance costs
  • Input on infrastructure total cost of operation reporting
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals, develop talent and promote employee engagement

 

Experience & Education

  • A minimum of 5 years working experience and/or equivalent working knowledge of IT Asset Management processes and procedures
  • A minimum of 3 years of Experience working with Configuration Management Databases
  • Undergraduate degree, Graduate degree preferred
  • ITIL Foundations Certificate
  • PMP Certificate preferred
  • Experience working in an outsourced infrastructure service delivery model
  • Experience with ServiceNow service management tool
  • Financial acumen
  • Vendor roadmap awareness and influence
  • Solid high-level knowledge of infrastructure technologies including servers, databases, middleware and storage
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
