The Core Network API Architect will report to the Director, Core Technology Architecture Planning. The Core Technology Planning teams are accountable for delivering a system level view including platform evolution, network service integration, core network resiliency modeling along with capital cost consolidation and optimization.

The Network API Architect will support Core Network API architecture development and service modeling for API call flows used for:

  • Service Flows in Application Data Plane & Control Plane
  • Service Authorization & Provisioning
  • Network slicing for 5G services
  • Bandwidth Management & QoS Management
  • Fair Usage Management and Charging Control with IPDR marking of traffic types
  • Content Filtering
  • E-mail & SMS notifications
  • Flexible output AVP definitions

Good working knowledge of distributed systems, web infrastructure and protocols, network architectures and distributed transaction processing.  Experience with API design, Java, Python, and API orchestration.

Proficiency in tools and modeling languages such as Postman, JSON, YAML, Jinja, REST, TMF and Netconf/Yang, along with DevOps toolkits such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Python and Ansible.

What you will be doing:

Using Web API, Rest API and Microservices API for

  • API call flow discovery, API script development and API script deployment
  • Perform Agile testing by creating and executing test scripts to assist with deployment of new production applications and network platforms
  • Works effectively in a self-contained, self-motivated development environment.  Expected to have regular interactions with internal/external stakeholders in a cross-functional team environment.
