Reporting to the Manager Network Investment Planning, the Capital Planner will be involved in planning and governance activities related to Rogers Core Network capital. The successful incumbent will work with various Rogers Core Engineering and Technology Planning teams to develop a capital roadmap. The incumbent will also assist with development of CAs and associated financial and business reports for Core team.




  • Work collaboratively with the Rogers Core Planning and Engineering teams to develop and produce Capital Planning and budget view
  • Represent the department by coordinating with peer departments to ensure effective capital budget planning and efficient financial tracking structure
  • Assist the Core Planning and Engineering teams with CA development, submission and approvals
  • Assist the Core Planning and Engineering teams with PSF submission and project setup
  • Produce clear, well-crafted weekly and monthly update reports
  • Manage the Capital Expenditure forecasting process, supporting the business in funding allocation
  • Extract raw data from Oracle financial system and analyze it to generate desired reports
  • Provide visibility into financial performance and operational measures through the preparation of monthly reporting packages
  • Drive continuous improvement in existing processes and assist with automating or improving them
  • Assist with planning of legacy equipment that needs to be decommissioned
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc work as necessary





  • Undergraduate degree with financial or Engineering background preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant, progressive experience in a financial planning and analytics role preferably in Telecommunications industry
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and other MS Office tools. Experience in Oracle Enterprise Business and Oracle Discoverer would be preferred
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Strong time management, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and objectives and prioritize effectively to meet timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter who proactively adapts to a changing environment
  • Excellent judgment and ability to see the big picture
  • Experience with financial forecasting, tracking and reporting
