Rogers is seeking a Wireline Principal Engineer/Designer.

The primary focus of this position is expert wireline access technology leadership and support including:


  • Industry design group participation and liaison (SCTE, CableLabs wireline, MSO groups, etc.).
  • Lead/participate in the Powering, Signal Leakage, R4B EoN, Construction Standards and Practices, design tools evolution related work and other Specifications/Guidelines.
  • Lead/participate in the control, synchronization, and life-cycle management of Wireline access network Design and Construction Standards and related material.
  • Lead/participate in the introduction and transfer of knowledge of specification and related content to stakeholders and assist in the operationalization of specifications and changes.
  • Evaluate Wireline Access technologies.
  • Wireline Access technology innovation.
  • Lead/participate in authoring and editing technical documents including specifications and presentations.
  • Help coach and mentor team members.
  • You will leverage your exceptional demonstration of values that Rogers embraces, interpersonal skills, expert level Wireline Cable Telecommunications knowledge and experience, analytical, and communication skills to research, develop, and help others with Access Design Standards and provide support to all related stakeholders.


What you will be doing…


  • Representing the company on technical matters.
  • Completing engineering analysis and creating specifications and guidelines/Tech Notes etc.
  • Modifying/adapting existing specifications, guidelines and other documents as required.
  • Analyzing technology industry, market trends, and developments to determine potential impacts and action accordingly.
  • Assisting others with engineering projects.
  • Technical writing and editing.
  • Adopting opportunities to extend existing/emerging technologies to meet anticipated network, business, and customer needs.
  • Engineering support for problem cases/RCAs, technology testing, approval.
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and/or implementing new features, hardware/software.
  • Optimizing wireline networks.
  • Identifying technical requirements.
  • Reviewing / editing work for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Assisting decision-making of team and management on technical issues.


What you have….


  • Preferably a graduate Engineer (or equivalent) with 10+ years experience.
  • Knowledge of more than one field of engineering or a high degree of specialization in one particular area of engineering.
  • Ability to keep conversant with advanced technological developments.
  • Originality and ingenuity that are required for devising practical and economical solutions to problems.
  • Leading edge knowledge in engineering and viewed as a subject matter expert.
  • Ability to understanding, advocate for, and support the integration of network technology strategies.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the industry.
  • Strong ability to complete varied engineering assignments.
  • Understanding of potential impacts of work on other areas and technological developments.
  • Ability to work effectively within teams and independently.
