Rogers is currently looking for a Reliability Integration Specialist, reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Network Operations, the successful candidate will maintain operational excellence through leadership and teamwork in accordance with corporate and departmental objectives, policies and procedures related to customer service, costs, productivity, and quality.

What you will do:
Transitioning new products, features and technologies into Network Operations:
- Accountable for operationalizing new and existing products, services and technologies into the Enterprise IP/MPLS and Consumer FTTH Networks.
- Define tool requirements that adhere to FCAPS, including scripts, unit-testing framework, orchestration, and reporting requirements for new technologies/services.
- Determine operational acceptance criteria for Engineering Design Specification (intake) and project completion (Acceptance Test Plans / FOA Testing Requirements.)
- Support and guide the team in medium to long term Network Service strategies and roadmap development in alignment with business objectives and in coordination with Network Platform roadmap development.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders including business, functional peers, and senior leaders on cross-functional initiatives, and establish constructive working relationship to build influence and achieve alignments.
- Conduct detailed review of the engineering architecture and design to gain full understanding of the technology / product.
Integrating best practices into operating and maintaining our Platforms and Services (end to end):
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise on related platforms and services.
- Define and establish best practices in Platform & Service Operations adhering to ITIL and FCAPS methodologies and framework.
- Recommends process improvement and procedures to explore simplification and automation to improve Network Operational performance and efficiencies
- Provide expert-level support for change control activities including impact analysis, MOP reviews, change implementation, and post-activity verification.
- Accountable to determine tools and/or automation that assist the end-to-end service/platform health.
Leading incident resolution and risk identification and mitigations:
- Perform as a top-tier technical resource within Network Operations to investigate and resolve network incidents and problems during business hours or after-hours (24/7), as required.
- Analyze incident trends and lead the creation of incident models to standardize an effective response to outages.
- Facilitate identification of control mechanisms and critical action/recovery paths for system & network components.
- Identifying risks that impact the reliability, scalability, performance, and resiliency of the platform or service. Lead risk/problem management cases on complex issues with the vendor, engineering.
- Determine performance management variance for platforms and services. Lead solutions to address these gaps and participate/lead continuous improvement engagement to resolve long-standing issues.
- Provide recommendations and/or direct actions that will circumvent an outage or lessen the severity if an underlying problem surfaces.
- Conduct and analyze targeted audits and provide strategies for assessing risks and deploying changes.
- Must be willing to work in a flexible work environment and after-hours conditions.
- Adhere to all policy and legal requirements under Health and Safety legislation.
What you have:
- 10 years or greater experience in a technical leadership role. Must show a successful history of coaching and mentoring highly technical support teams.
- 3+ years experience leading and supporting network programmability & automation in Network Operations environment using any of the following Programming Languages: I.e. Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, VBscript, Perl, BASH.
- 10 years or greater experience troubleshooting in an IP and/or Fixed Network FTTH subscriber management-based service provider environment.
- Experience with networking: routers/switches/firewalls, DDoS mitigation, routing, subneting and network protocols.
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the TCP/IP protocol, specifically relating to the routing of IP packets (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, MPLS VPN, and Multicast)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of XGS-PON Passive Networks (Best Practices and Design principles).
- Experienced-based knowledge of Nokia ISAM 7360 OLT (XGS-PON) Platform and Residential Subscriber Services, AMS 5520 and related equipment.
- Experienced-based knowledge of Nokia Service Router 7750SR/7210 platforms and services. TiMOS/SR OS, NFM-P/CPAM, Software. Nokia SRA / Fixed Network certifications considered an asset.
- Experienced-based knowledge of Cisco ASR and CRS Platforms, as well as Juniper MX/PTS-series is considered an asset.
- Provide expert technology platform support of change control process including impact analysis, method of procedure review, implementation, and verification.
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, SevOne, or other Network/Application Performance Tool is an asset.
- Proficient written and oral communications skills, including to Senior leadership level (Director/VP/SVP)
- Experience with automation methodologies is strongly preferred to deliver innovative ideas to increase efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, in an organized, methodical, and pleasant manner.
