We are Rogers prepaid wireless IT, we build industry-leading prepaid products for customers. We are a unified organization with a common mission and revolutionary culture. We are looking for a Release Manager, reporting to the Sr. Development Manager of Prepaid Technology at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus. You will be responsible for defining the release strategy, scope, schedule, and quality criteria, coordinate the release activities across different teams, such as development, testing, operations, and business, communicate the release status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and ensure compliance with policies and standard. This position requires creativity and innovation, strong communication skills, and collaborate with various cross-functional teams across Rogers.

 

Who we're looking for:

  • Responsible for End-to-End ENV health.
  • Manages ENV lifecycle to support multi projects in parallel.
  • Plans the release of project deliverables and release life cycle.
  • Coordinates the release schedule and resources required depending upon applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
  • Communicates release plans to stakeholders.
  • Identifies the dependencies, risks that may impact the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
  • Ensures that DevOps team is available and assigned to every release.
  • Participates in TAB&CAB meetings to discuss the release schedules, scope of releases, and address roadblocks, if any.
  • Maintains documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies.
  • Leads the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully.
  • Makes improvements in the methodologies used for release management.
     

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of related experience as Release manager or Project manager or Delivery manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud systems and Cloud deployment, Web services, Kubernetes and container frameworks, etc. 
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture, CI/CD pipeline.
  • Project management experience: Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid.
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written, with the ability to frame technology issues in business terms.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with aptitude for achieving results.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytics skills.
