Sr Analyst, Capital Management

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for the Senior Analyst who will be Reporting into the Senior Manager and will be a key contributor to the efforts made to provide timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the Capital Management team. This individual will be responsible for the Resource and Financial Planning and Analytics required by the Capital Management team.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Track and maintain forecasts to support planning and delivery across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project impacts and ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and resourcing needs.
  • Monitor potential delivery conflicts and provide recommendations to optimize priorities and minimize risks.
  • Communicate regularly with program stakeholders and leadership to provide visibility into portfolio health, risks, and performance.
  • Support adoption of planning and reporting tools to improve forecasting accuracy and decision-making.
  • Contribute to financial and resource tracking and refinement of processes related to project management
  • Lead gathering of monthly planning including forecasting, analytics & reporting.
  • Draft commentary and conduct analysis for exec-level resource forecast presentations.
  • Present monthly reports to Sr. Manager+.
  • Conduct forecast modelling to evaluate issues, risks, opportunities for cost efficiencies w.r.t financial and delivery targets.
  • Collaborate with BU & Technology planning, Finance, PMO and Delivery teams.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with Planning Primes, Delivery Owners, Project Managers and Product Owners in the supported Technology towers.
  • Work closely with other planning primes, in identifying budgeting and forecasting challenges and contribute to improvements, opportunities and performance measurements in project delivery.

 

What you'll bring:

  • Undergraduate degree with financial/business background preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian telecom industry is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in finance or resource planning an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant, progressive experience in a resource and/or financial planning and analytics role preferably in an IT, Digital or Technology industry.
  • Very high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and other MS Office tools.
  • Strong hands-on experience using BI tools such as PowerBI.
  • Experience in Oracle Cloud Suites (EPM & ERP) and SmartView is preferred.
  • High degree of proven analytical and data analysis capabilities is required.
  • Showcases strong business and financial acumen, research/analysis and problem-solving skills, ability to absorb a large amount of information (financial and non-financial) and summarize key issues.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and high standards of quality are expected. Should be able to work both strategically and tactically.
  • The successful candidate will bring excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proven experience to build and maintain strong working relationships across the organization and with all levels of management in a matrix organization.
  • Results oriented, has proven ability to multitask, flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand complex dynamics of working with multiple stakeholders with divergent interests.
  • Relentlessly challenges the status quo to ensure new ideas are explored.
  • Understanding of Rogers internal Financial, SDLC, Procurement processes is an asset.
  • Understanding Project Management principles and Project Software Development life cycle is an asset.
  • Must be confident with working using large amounts of data.
