Rogers is seeking a Senior Manager, Cloud FinOps, to join our team within our (public and private cloud, Operational Support Systems and Service Management) IT department, reporting to the Sr. Director of Partner Success Office. We are looking for a high achieving individual to lead a team of finops specialists through day to day activities while building and executing on a multi-year approach to mature the practice.
The Senior Manager, Cloud FinOps leads a team of specialists and stewards the end-to-end FinOps lifecycle. You’ll own cost visibility and allocation, commitment & rate optimization, anomaly detection, forecasting, executive reporting, and the enablement programs that help engineering teams build cost-aware architectures. You will be the connective tissue between Product/Engineering, Finance, Procurement/Vendor Mgmt, Security/CloudOps, and leadership—translating technical spend into business insight and measurable outcomes.
What you will be doing:
-
Own the FinOps operating model for the enterprise: standards, policies, education, workflows, and the “shared accountability” model for cost ownership across central and partner teams.
-
Lead & develop a team of FinOps specialists: prioritize backlogs, run stand‑ups, coach on analytics, negotiation, and stakeholder management; mature the practice using a RACI and clear KPIs.
-
Run cost visibility & allocation: maintain defensible showback/chargeback, reconcile invoices, and integrate with finance rhythms
-
Keep allocation rules current and govern tagging policy and data quality controls; reduce “untagged/unknown” cost and improve lineage from provider invoice to internal allocation
-
Support commitment & rate optimization
-
plan and manage RI/Savings Plan/CUD coverage, renewals, and exchanges;
-
Lead usage optimization with partner teams: rightsizing, scheduling, storage tiering, data transfer patterns, and architecture trade‑offs; track pipeline from opportunity → implemented → realized savings.
-
Establish & publish FinOps KPIs and dashboards
-
Monthly Business Review (MBR) / Leadership reporting:
-
Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback choices
-
FinOps tooling ownership : ensure trusted data ingestion, persona‑based views, and static reporting for month‑end; steward platform renewals and roadmap.
What you Bring:
-
8+ years in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, Cloud Economics, FP&A for cloud/SaaS, or adjacent technical finance roles;
-
3+ years directly leading teams (FinOps or cloud cost teams preferred)
-
FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or higher, cloud fundamentals certifications a plus
-
Demonstrated ownership of chargeback/showback, invoice reconciliation, and cost allocation at enterprise scale.
-
Handson with at least two cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI) and their pricing/discount constructs (RIs, Savings Plans/CUDs), plus anomaly detection and rightsizing tactics.
-
Proficiency with FinOps platforms and building persona-based dashboards and month-end static reports.
-
Strong partnership track record with Finance/Accounting on budgeting, forecasting
-
Clear written and verbal communicator who can translate spend into business narratives for executives (powerpoint) and actionable guidance for engineers
-
Ability to succeed in challenging and ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining program momentum
-
Possess strong negotiation, influencing, relationship management, communication, and Business writing skills.
-
Strategic thinker who can make decisions and plan, develop, and implement innovative solutions even with limited information.
-
A highly motivated, collaborative individual with strong leadership, organizational, multitasking, troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
