Who we're looking for
The Sr. Manager, Governance, Risk, and Compliance is accountable for the leadership and oversight of the program for compliance engagements in the Information & Cyber Security Unit.
Reporting to the Director Cyber Cloud Security, the Senior Manager will be executing strategic security initiatives as well as support the business units and technology delivery teams across the organization.
This leader manages a team of high performing cyber compliance team who have accountability to review the information and cyber risks for business and technology teams. The Senior Manager in this role will evolve cyber security supplier processes including supplier security assessments, contract security reviews, manage enterprise PCI compliance and regular enterprise industry cyber security benchmarking.
What you you'll do:
- Lead, motivate, develop, and maximize the contribution of multiple teams and individuals to work effectively as one team
- Make decisions regarding staffing. Expected to provide daily direction, coaching, feedback, and is expected to address performance issues. Responsible for the quality and quantity of the work of the team and meeting committed timelines.
- Oversee the generation of regular security metrics for communication to senior leadership with the objective of driving continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Manage Supplier Security activities and contract evaluation to include privacy and cyber risk for major programs/ projects across organization.
- Partner with Procurement, Enterprise Risk, Privacy and Legal teams to define security compliance
- Oversee PCI governance and annual PCI audit across enterprise
- Monitor the external and internal risk landscape and drives changes to the information security strategy. Oversees its implementation through budgetary planning and prioritization.
- Build and maintain key relationships with business & technology peers and senior stakeholders to demonstrate the value and effectiveness of security to the company.
- Effectively communicate information security risks to a diverse audience from technical staff to senior leaders to ensure that informed decisions are made and risk is treated appropriately.
What you bring:
- Undergraduate degree in technology or related field.
- 10+ years of information security experience in complex technology environments.
- Experience managing large teams (10+ staff).
- Familiarity with frameworks/standards: ISO 27002, COBIT, ISF SoGP, PCI DSS, PIPEDA, Cloud Security.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar certifications (assets).
- Previous experience in telecommunications and/or media (asset).
- Strong business and technical acumen.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Skilled in analyzing complex security issues and providing pragmatic recommendations.
- Effective communicator—able to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficient in creating clear, concise written documents and summaries.
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
