Rogers is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to join the Engagement team within the Demand Management unit. Reporting to a Sr. Engagement Manager at either the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, or the Downtown Toronto Campus, this individual will be responsible for the following:

 

What you will be doing:

  • Work with Engagement Manager and Stakeholders to ensure that the requirements are well defined, documented and prioritized.
  • Work with Business and Technology stakeholders to ensure Functional and Non-Functional requirements are elicited. This includes working with Solution Architecture and Cyber Security and Production Support primes to ensure a holistic view to requirements.
  • Facilitate project solutions discussions - JAD sessions, responsible for gathering input and documenting HLD/DDD (High Level Design / Detailed Design Document) and JIRA stories.
  • Step in to back-fill role gaps (e.g. Engagement Manager) as needed.
  • Responsible (in partnership with the Engagement Manager) for aligning all technology teams (including Digital, Network) when facilitating solution discussions.
  • Responsible for documenting / managing change requests (PCRs).
  • Track/document assumptions, risks, dependencies, and ensure appropriate actions.
  • Responsible for artifact documentation (examples include JIRA stories, HLD/DD) and submission to IT PMO.
  • Support testing teams/activities: test plan/case creation.
  • Work closely with third party technology vendors; ability to challenge the vendor design to ensure what is being built satisfies the needs of our business partners.
  • Actively engage in the solution design process; must be able to contribute and challenge solution decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in both Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

 

What you have:

  • Technology undergraduate degree, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Business Systems Analyst preferably with knowledge of Telecommunications products.
  • Associate Certificate in Business Analysis, or in progress (i.e. CBAP Preferred).
  • Experience using Rogers systems preferred.
  • Jira knowledge is an asset. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Vendor Management/Coordinating third party development.
  • Knowledge of or Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).
  • Demonstrated success working with internal and external business teams to understand and gather requirements and working with project teams to meet expectations.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and solutions, communicate effectively with colleagues (business and technical staff) and end users.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, work collaboratively, and resolve problems with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Experience working with external vendors.
  • Core Competencies: Customer service orientation; teamwork and collaboration; adaptability; initiative; analytical thinking.

  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment.
