Rogers Information Cyber Security Unit is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide support to the Security Program team. The Business Systems Analyst will work directly with the Security team, technology team, and other key stakeholders to analyze, visualize and report on cyber security threats, such as content piracy. What you will be doing...

  • Ensure that business requirements are clearly identified, prioritized and satisfied by appropriate technical and or business process solutions.
  • Help identify and address business opportunities with innovative business architectures.
  • Proposes system requirements and/or business process changes to fulfill business user requirements, ensuring system development or business process solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong business domain knowledge and ability to communicate technical problems & impact into business language. The individual will be a strong advisor to our business partners and will have close interactions with them frequently.
  • Ensures projects align with the business and ITS strategies, influencing the development of plans and processes in supported organizations.
  • Elicit, analyze, document and validate business requirements or user stories, process flows, identifying system and process solution components, producing functional specifications for solution components and for the integrated solutions.
  • Preparation of Requirements Matrix, Use Cases, User Stories, Test Cases, as per various methodologies, scrum, kanban, as well as waterfall
  • Interact with Systems Analyst/Programmers to ensure that questions and discrepancies about specifications are resolved during the solution development process.
  • Communicates with project managers, application developers, subject matter experts, end users, and Rogers' senior management.
  • Organizes assumptions and probes for refined data and provides analysis.
  • Identifies and highlights problem areas, gaps or conflicts derived from information gathered.
  • Extends awareness of risks associated with application development and potential impacts, incorporating risk planning and mitigation.
  • Provides testing input across functions and develops and conducts small group training. Validate individual functions and the overall solution delivery, and may be directly involved in the test process.
  • Conduct project review sessions, obtain sign offs, and coordinate acceptance tests to ensure timely delivery of requirements.
  • Works closely with third party technology vendors; ability to challenge the vendor design to ensure what is being built satisfies the needs of our business partners
  • Understands impact of integrating third party solutions to overall systems architecture.
  • Assist with post implementation support


What you have...

  • 5+ years of business systems analyst experience. PMP strongly preferred. 
  • Must have experience in modelling operational processes and identifying improvements. 
  • Skills required include Power BI, Visio, Advanced Excel. 
  • Experience with cyber security risk assessments using industry standards such as ISF and NIST
  • Previous experience working in cyber security teams, such as risk assessment, incident response, or network security. 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to assess contractual terms, to evaluate and communicate impact and recommend alternatives.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work under own initiative.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism and discretion with sensitivity in handling confidential information.
