Job Title Sr. Civil Engineer
Who we are looking for:
Rogers is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer reporting to the Sr. Manager, Civil Engineering National Standards, Wireless Civil & Equipment Engineering at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus.
What you'll do:
- The Sr. Civil Engineer (National) is responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects, as well as developing and maintaining engineering standards that are vital to the deployment and upkeep of telecommunications networks.
- This position is responsible for establishing engineering standards, practices and products used for construction of, or expansion, modification or upgrading existing wireless network locations nationally. This includes tower installations, reinforcing, repairs, inspections and rooftop antenna installations, buildings and enclosures, electrical grounding, lightning protection, structural adequacy and safety as well as worker safety.
- Research, source, evaluate and standarize products for use in the wireless network, to take advantage of new technology, meet changing needs due to changes in network technology or to reduce capital and operational costs keeping an eye on the reducing product delivery lead time. The integration of new approved products is completed through the coordination with Purchasing and/or Project Management who negotiate supply and/or service agreements with vendors and contractors.
- The Senior Civil Engineer (National) is considered an inhouse expert resource within the organization and is often relied on for negotiating and/or resolving contracts and disputes, resolving problems with landlords and the public. Ensuring that Rogers standards and practices properly reflect applicable codes and standards.
- Represent Rogers within the industry, participate in industry councils (CTA, STAC), Standards Committees (CSA) etc.
What you bring:
- Strong technical proficiency in civil engineering design, structural risk assessment, mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of materials (Steel, soils, aggregates, concrete), damping, vortex shedding, vibration, environmental, project management tools, and MS Office suite.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and industry standards relevant to telecommunications infrastructure projects.
- Canadian P.Eng with minimum 5 years industry experience.
- Valid drivers license an asset.
