Rogers is seeking a Sr. Cyber Security Communications Advisor for the Information & Cyber Security Unit (ICSU), focusing on Cyber Security Governance, Reporting & Communications. This individual will be responsible for developing strategic planning, executive-level reports, communications, briefings, as well as working with management and leadership to create presentations and events for a variety of audiences.

 

The ideal candidate should be articulate, organized, creative, and solution-focused, with a strong proven background in communications and reporting for executive levels, and a track record of delivering a portfolio of multiple high-quality initiatives on time. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Cyber Security Governance at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus.

 

What you will be doing...

  • Create written and graphical cyber security updates, reports, and briefings for executive and board level audiences.
  • Create regular weekly and monthly presentation decks: leadership program status, town hall presentations.
  • Work with management and leadership to create strategies and roadmaps.
  • Create communications and speaking notes for management and leadership, that are well-researched, succinct and articulate.
  • Create and coordinate engaging cyber security presentations in MS PowerPoint to deliver over virtual platforms to large audiences. Ensure presenters are prepared and rehearsed.
  • Plan and deliver speaking events: panel presentations, fireside chats, roadshows, etc.
  • Facilitate cultural change to promote secure behaviour through communication and awareness initiatives.
  • Write cyber security communications and articles to support the cyber security awareness program and related social media strategy.
  • Develop measurable cyber security metrics and KPIs to monitor the maturity and posture of the different areas of Information & Cyber Security Unit, including the Awareness program.
  • Enhance security awareness campaigns, where possible, based on the findings of measurements.
  • Network with multiple Rogers teams to build cross-collaborative partnerships and create a consistent cyber security awareness campaign.

 

What you have...

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Business or Digital Marketing, Journalism, Communications & Media, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of combined experienced in cyber security, communications, consulting, training, project or program management.
  • Direct experience in writing executive summary briefings and executive-level reports and program updates.
  • Direct experience with creating PowerPoint presentations, virtual event planning and communications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills, for all audience levels, including executive level. 
  • Strong graphic skills in relation to creating presentations.
  • Ability to take abstract information and synthesize into succinct, concise and logical summaries and reports. Ability to translate technical language into common business language.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, research skills, including the ability to correlate data and translate into trends. Ability to understand risk-based behaviours that contribute to negative trends and recommend remedial activities.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis of issues, in order to make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence of the issue.  
  • Ability to determine relevant KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), in order to set and achievement improvement targets against KPI benchmarks.
  • Ability to develop and drive out strategic programs with accompanied action plans.
  • Project or program management knowledge, with the ability to multi-task and balance / manage multiple deliverables on time and with high quality.
  • Ability to learn about new technologies and determine cyber risks in relation to company cyber security standards and policies.
  • Works well under pressure and time constraints and can prioritize competing priorities appropriately
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Previous experience with HTML is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is an asset.
