Rogers is seeking a Sr. Cyber Security Advisor to support the Information & Cyber Security Unit (ICSU) Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) function, with a strong focus on cyber security awareness, presentations, communications, and technical writing.
This individual will be responsible for supporting the delivery and maintenance of the enterprise cyber security awareness program, as well as support in cyber security standards & policies. The ideal candidate is articulate, organized, creative, with a strong proven background in technical and creative writing skills, excellent verbal communications, training, and virtual event planning.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Governance & Awareness, at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this individual will have the following responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the security awareness and education program to raise awareness and facilitate cultural change that promotes secure behaviour through communication and awareness initiatives.
- Collaborate with multiple Rogers teams to build cross-collaborative partnerships across every business unit and create a consistent cyber security awareness campaign.
- Create and coordinate engaging cyber security presentations and speaking events to deliver over virtual platforms to large audiences. Ensure presenters are prepared and rehearsed.
- Write cyber security communications and articles that are well-researched, succinct and articulate, to support the cyber security awareness program and strategy.
- Measure maturity and success of the awareness program, based on KPIs and industry benchmarking tools. Enhance awareness campaigns, based on research and findings.
- Use your technical writing skills to support updates to Rogers security policies, standards, and guidelines to satisfy legal/regulatory requirements and industry good practice. Collaborate with teams cross functionally to standardize security best practices.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Business or Digital Marketing, Journalism, Communications & Media, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- PMP or related Project Management certification is an asset
- CISSP or related Cyber Security certification is an asses
- 3+ years of broad cyber security experience with a focus on awareness, and communications and technical writing.
- 2+ years of project management or related experience.
- Experience and strengths in the following key areas are an asset:
- Experience in the telecommunications and/or cyber security industry
- Experience in project management and driving multiple initiatives on a tight timeline is an asset.
- Experience in planning and delivering training and education content is an asset.
- Advance knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to translate technical information into business language to creates clear, coherent and concise written materials
- Ability to create meaningful and impactful visual presentations that clearly demonstrates key messages and business-value outcome.
- Ability to influence others, build consensus and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Team player with a positive attitude and ability to hit the ground running
