Who we are looking for: 
We're seeking a Senior Devops Lead to join us in Toronto or Brampton, collaborating across DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and application teams to drive seamless build and release processes for our digital platforms.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that various SaaS and cloud-based applications, but not limited to, adhere to enterprise IT release processes. The role involves acting as a liaison for multiple non-production environments, coordinating across development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments and environment stability.

 


What you’ll do:

  • Provide hands-on implementation and support of platforms and services for applications and APIs created by the development teams
  • Implement Health Monitoring, Alerting and Log Analytics to ensure 24x7 availability of the supported environments
  • Perform releases, deployments, validation, tuning and patching activities
  • Perform Problem determination, coordinate various teams to analyze root cause and drive resolution of technical issues
  • Increase platform reliability and availability by designing, testing, and implementing process and technical improvements
  • Provide optimization recommendations through historical analysis and participation in the design of forthcoming projects
  • Work with Development team to provide platform support for the design and execution of test cases
  • Work with Enterprise DevOps/Support teams to design, automate and implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure security of the platforms to Rogers security standards, work with the Rogers security team to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Adhere to Rogers processes including Change Management, Release Management,Problem Management
  • Participate in rotation for on-call support

 

What you bring:

  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure and solution design concepts (Azure and AWS)
  • Hands on experiences with  Python or any scripting language
  • Experience with Linux systems specifically RHEL commands and scripting
  • Working knowledge of groovy as a pipeline scripting language
  • Experience with SCM like Github, BitBucket or GitLab, with knowledge of branching and release concepts
  • Two or more years of hands-on technical experience with platforms such as AKS/EKS, Kafka, Spark, ELK, GitHub, Jira
  • Two or more years of experience leading small technical teams and ownership of applications and platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and Log Analytics tools such as Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, Dynatrace
  • Experience with integration technologies such as Mulesoft, Weblogic, OSB, SOAP, REST
  • Experience with automation tools such as Urban Code, Jenkins, ADO, Actions
  • Experience with securing platforms, such as certificate management, API management, TLS, SASL, Kerberos
  • Knowledge of networking such as configuring Network Load Balancer, Firewall
  • Experience in working with distributed teams situated locally or globally in different geographies
  • Flexible and adaptive, team player
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize work and well organized
  • Ability to take ownership on the deliverables
