We are currently seeking an Senior Backend Developer to join the Rogers Digital Customer Account Manager (CAM) team. You will work with business stakeholders, partners, and the scrum team to design and develop creative solutions. The successful candidates will be part of a fast-paced development team responsible for delivery of an exceptional experiences that delight our customers. 


What you will do:

  • Design and develop APIs
  • Work in a small team with startup mentality to write high quality code
  • Recommend solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of different approaches
  • Collaborate with the development team, support, and business on day to day development requests and support
  • Prepare documentation and use case scenarios when required
  • Leads solution designs, documents architecture proposals and creates high-level design documents
  • Helps determine coding standards along with the senior development team and ensures consistent adoption by developers
  • Conducts code reviews, mentors and coaches the larger team, provides objective feedback to consultants and development partners to ensure proper execution of projects.

 

What you will bring: 

  • 8+ years of experience
  • 3+ years Agile/scrum experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Java 8, 11, SpringBoots
  • Experience in microservices architecture
  • Experience with databases (SQL, and NoSQL)
  • Understanding and knowledge with utilizing/implementing operational tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Prior experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Artifactory, Azure, AWS) preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of version control (e.g. git, github) and build tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience with Agile tools and Methodologies (e,g. - Atlassian suite)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, with good verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational and estimation skills
  • Operates with minimal supervision and performs moderate to difficult technical tasks independently
  • Excellent Team Player and acts as mentor in own area
  • Experience in working with distributed teams situated globally in different geographies
  • Excellent analytical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize work and well organized
  • Ability to take ownership on the deliverables
