Reporting to the VP, Assisted Channels & Business IT, this position will play a key role in helping identify and execute strategic transformative initiatives and technology innovations for improving both customer and front-line experience and operational best practices. He/she will lead the technology innovation agenda for Rogers and all its brands and be an essential part of Rogers’ strategic technology transformations including Contact Centre, Oneview, R4B, and Sales/Retail. He/She will play a critical role in managing the daily work streams of the key initiatives.  He/she will collaborate closely with Digital and IT, and Product teams to provide strategic business guidance for the capital requirements, technology architecture, and design and build management of the capabilities and platforms that will enable our transformation.

 

To be successful in this role, the Senior Director requires strong business, financial, technical and program management acumen, as well as an ability to work with senior leaders in a high-paced environment managing diverse activities.  He/she will have demonstrated the ability to achieve results by leading, collaborating and influencing other team members who are not within the same reporting line or functional group.

 

Impact on Business

  • Lead the development of the transformational strategic plans and roadmap based on a 0-36-month horizon

  • Responsible and accountable for analysis and recommendations that will be used in the long-term strategic vision and strategy

  • Owns the development and ongoing management of the business cases overall and for every associated initiative.

  • Work closely with Digital and IT to continually improve and advance Rogers’ platforms and automation technology capabilities to deliver exceptional experiences to customers and front-lien.

  • Design, manage and run the governance process for each transformation.

  • Develops the transformational strategic plans and roadmap based on 0-36 month horizon

  • Creates and shares an external view of technology innovations and identifies benchmarks and trends within the market

  • Operate impartially across business lines to connect initiatives and identify optimization opportunities

  • Aid in crafting communications documents for internal and external audiences

  • Facilitate cross-functional program meetings (weekly meetings, Exec SteerCo, etc.)

  • Prepare and manage materials for executive presentations

  • Support capital planning/budgeting process

  • Collaborate with HR to drive people, culture and change, which is critical to success in the transformations for our customers and front-line channels.

 

Change Management

  • Works with HR and Communications to continue to build programs that drive awareness and understanding of the transformation initiatives, both within and outside the company

  • Helps catalyze the value of digital to the business in both financial and cultural ways

  • Helps frame, explore and structure new partnership opportunities in collaboration with Digital, IT, Finance and the Product teams

  • Highlights use cases to showcase progress for key stakeholders and teams

  • Brings people together and creates space for transparent and constructive conversations

  • Is recognized as a trusted advisor and coach for each of the initiative leads         

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • 10+ years of professional and telecom industry experience

  • Business degree (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in consulting and/or articulating a strategy from ideation phase

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative leadership to motivate across cross-functional teams.  This is crucial for success.

  • Proven ability to effectively and independently manage multiple simultaneous initiatives within a fast-paced environment

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Strong business sense to help drive prioritization decisions

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Strong financial and business acumen

  • Passionate to drive change

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to turn concepts into plans

 

Education

  • BS Degree. Advanced degree preferred.
