The Messaging Engineering team is looking for talented individuals to join our winning team where you will have a chance  to drive the design, development, testing, engineering, implementation, and evolution for Messaging & VAS DevOps as they continue the evolution to the Cloud environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Assume Engineering Accountability for any combination of the following platforms: Voice Mail, Short Messaging Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), Anti Spam, Message transfer Relay (MTA) and ADC platforms
  • Engineer and integrate messaging engineering platforms to support new services, products, and applications.
  • Subject Matter Expert on any one or combination of AntiSpam platforms, MMS,SMS, MTA, VoiceMail, or Device Configuration Systems, with in depth knowledge  on at least one of the mentioned systems.
  • Provide Technical Lead support related to the deployment of new platforms, services, and applications lifecycle management.
  • Assess technical requirements and provide high level engineering costs for the implementation and deployment of new services and platforms.
  • Liaise with technical vendors, technical and product teams within Rogers.
  • Provide input for technical solutions related to the deployment of new services, and/or resolution of technical issues related to engineering designs.
  • Generate technical engineering documentation i.e. Planning & Design Specification Documents, Test Plans, Work orders and Method of Procedures (MoPs) which facilitates service testing and platform integration.
  • Provide Subject Matter expertise related to Assigned Platforms in interacting with Cloud and Infra teams
  • Work in a tight, highly motivated, team environment taking on leadership responsibility when necessary.
  • Keep abreast of the industry developments specifically in respect to Messaging services deployments and advancements inclusive of Cloud deployments

 

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5+ years of technical experience across Wireless Networks, VAS  and Cloud
  • University Degree or equivalent in engineering/ computer science 
  • Excellent Knowledge of 5G /LTE/3G call flows.
  • Knowledge of IMS/VoLTE/VoWiFi call flows and its deployment
  • Experience operating or exposure to deployment of applications in CNF/VMS or OpenShift Cloud
  • Good Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, Unix, Linux, Web based services, SMPP, WAP, SIP, LDAP, DNS, REST API and Diameter Protocols
  • Good knowledge of network IP platforms; routers, switches, load-balancers and appliances  
  • Working knowledge of VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices
  • Engineering experience in the following areas: Voice Mail, SMS, MMS, MTA or Anti Spam
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal skills, teamwork, and collaborative abilities.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Innovative and Creative thinking, Problem Solving abilities, adaptability, and Initiative.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and organize to meet tight deadlines.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week.
