We’re looking for a Sr. Services Developer to join the team.

 

Services Developers are responsible for backend development of next generation products and services. The role handles all the development tasks of building services, system interfaces, and/or user interfaces
You will work with the business stakeholders and frontend developers to shape the systems that will fuel our digital presence.  The successful candidates will be part of a fast-paced development team responsible for delivery of an exceptional online customer experience. 


What you will do…

  • Responsible for the technical / systems analysis, design, development, unit testing, system integration testing, implementation and support of software applications, using existing and emerging technology platforms. Role includes custodian of the established architecture assuring that documented standards and procedures are adhered to and ensure the smooth interpretability of the applications. 
  • Work in waterfall and agile hybrid environment.
  • Work with Project Managers, Product Owners, BSA, and other stakeholders to develop technical strategies and contribute to detailed project plans based on agreed upon project priorities.
  • Work closely with Architects and development manager for project and solution design. Accountable for tracking individual change request life cycle from scope through deployment (Participate in All SDLC Phases).
  • Provide detailed estimation of application change requests.
  • Responsible for writing reliable and robust web services that response in low numbers of milliseconds.
  • Perform code review.  Working closely with other team members to establish a code quality processes and other best practices for delivery, code control and sustainability
  • Will be part of a scrum team.  Participate in daily standup, story pointing, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies with scrum master.
  • Provide application support, troubleshooting, application testing, system integration testing and post-implementation review of new/changed applications. Reviews release notes and other relevant documentation.  
  • Investigate production issues.  Ensuring proper logging and monitoring are in place. 
  • Will be part of product lifecycle and product delivery managemen

 

What you will bring…

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience using Java, Spring Boot, REST Web Services
  • 3+ years of experience with Databases for relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Cosmos DB)
  • 3+ years working in agile scrum environments
  • Strong industry experience in designing and developing scalable production quality REST APIs.
  • Excellent knowledge of version control (e.g. git, github) and build tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Experience with Agile tools and Methodologies (e,g. - Atlassian suite)
  • Understanding and knowledge with utilizing/implementing operational tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, with good verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational and estimation skills
  • Operates with minimal supervision and performs moderate to difficult technical tasks independently
  • Excellent Team Player and acts as mentor in own area
  • Prior experience with cloud technologies (Docker, Artifactory, Azure, AWS) preferred.
  • Understanding/Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Angular), NGINX is a plus.
