The Video Services Planning Manager will report to the Director, Core Technology Planning. The Core Technology Planning team is accountable for delivering multi-year network plans with a system level view. Accountabilities for Video Services Planning include IPTV syndicated video services and platform evolution, CDN capacity planning and capacity modeling, reporting key performance KPIs, capital budgeting & cost consolidation, CA business case approvals and platform optimization.
Video services includes Rogers IPTV Ignite syndicated platforms, CDN content delivery networks, Linear TV systems, VOD platforms, legacy video system sunsetting, business planning and network decommissioning. Cross functional team engagement encompasses Video Engineering, Network Implementation, Network Operations, Network Security, IT, PMO, Product Management to develop platform architecture with business case benefits.
What you will be doing:
• Develop 3 year Network Plans for Rogers Video Services
• Track capacity utilization of IPTV Ignite CDN network and trigger augmentation plans
• Develop capacity dimensioning models based on subscriber forecasts and actual network performance
• Maintain Router Port Inventory database
• Prepare and present Budget & Commitment Authorizations for Video Service platforms for capital initiatives and required supporting documentation
• Work closely with Rogers Connected Home and Procurement teams on strategy and negotiations
• Managing engagement for a team of Video Planners
What you bring:
• Min 5+ years of experience in IPTV video services and legacy QAM video Planning or Engineering
• Knowledge and experience with Comcast IPTV video delivery platforms
• Demonstrated strong understanding of Video IPTV platforms and CDN networks.
• Strong analytical skills along with verbal and written communication skills
