The IOT and Wireless Device Technology organization is looking for a Systems Integrator that has real-world experience in the technology research and introduction of wireless devices within a Service Operator ecosystem. Reporting to the Manager of IoT and Wireless Device Technology, the successful candidate will have expert knowledge wireless eMBB devices including but not limited to smartphones, tablets, wearables, and fixed wireless devices to develop technology strategies and play a critical role in how devices are introduced and managed on the Rogers Network.


This position requires strong communication skills, and involves close collaboration with senior team members and cross-functional groups across for device certification and integration activities.



• BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding and working knowledge of the following technologies: 5G NR (NSA and SA), Cellular-IoT (Cat M1 and Cat NB-IoT), LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi

• Technical excellence in IoT / embedded / M2M industry 

• Technical excellence in wireless devices such as smartphones and other eMBB device types

• SIM/eSIM management

• Good knowledge of diagnostic monitoring tools such as QXDM, Accuver, and Wireshark

• Good understanding of wireless device architecture and overall radio access network including common bands and carrier aggregation combinations including EN-DC combos

• Knowledge of FWA devices and overall antenna design considerations

• Knowledge of TR-069, TR-181, and TR-104 device management

• Knowledge of OMA-DM and FOTA

• Familiar with 3GPP and GSMA specifications and able to research the standards to make device and network recommendations in order to support new features

• Familiar with wireless chipset solution and RF modem architecture

• Extensive experience working with module vendors, mobile devices and wearables

• Knowledge of edge computing use cases and possible vendor solutions

• Knowledge of common PC operating systems like Windows, Linux, Unix

• Extensive knowledge of mobile operating systems such as Android and iOS

• Strong background in Agile tools and methodologies

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration


Vendor Management:

• Experience in vendor management including chipset, device OEM’s, network vendors, and test equipment solutions

• Ability to evaluate vendor solutions, review overall architecture, and provide technical input on recommendations based upon through review

• Participate in vendor technical workshops and planning activities

• Plan device technical requirements based upon overall solution architecture and business requirements
