Director Community Partnerships
Rogers is looking for a community engagement champion to help improve connectivity for rural, remote, and Indigenous communities in western Canada and play our part in closing the digital divide.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Service Expansion West, this position will develop a team of community engagement managers and proactively identify opportunities to support the accelerated growth of our network and services across western Canada.

What will you do?

  • Lead and execute strategies to proactively build relationships with rural, remote and Indigenous communities across western Canada.
  • Build, develop and oversee a team of local community engagement managers.
  • Work closely with internal departments including network, government relations, marketing and sales to advance connectivity initiatives, infrastructure deployment, partnership opportunities, brand awareness and customer acquisition.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to provincial and local governments, First Nations and community organisations across western Canada.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Provide data and insights on regional communities, opportunities, and challenges across the west.

What you bring to the role

  • Significant expertise developing community engagement strategies, tactics and delivery, ideally gained within rural, remote and Indigenous communities
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop and lead teams working remotely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and oral presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to independently drive strategy and concepts into successful execution.
  • Deep knowledge of provincial government, First Nations and local government, including processes and people.
  • Deep knowledge of Indigenous relations, reconciliation, and culturally safe practices.
  • An understanding of public affairs and political communication practices including strong awareness of media and stakeholder relations best practices.
  • A natural affinity for collaboration and a lot of drive, enthusiasm and positive energy
  • Ability to identify trends, issues and opportunities.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business/Public Administration, Program Management, Public Relations, and/or Political Science and or a combination of a degree and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with government and/or Indigenous communities.
  • An understanding of the telecommunications industry and a passion for technology and connecting communities is highly desirable but not required.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license as travel is required in this role
