About Data Science and Analytics:
New Grads in Data Science & Analytics will play a key role in building solutions by turning data into actionable insights through:

  • Conceptualizing, designing, and developing analytical solutions as required.
  • Presenting the insights, algorithms, and visualizations to wider audience.
  • Working with teams across organizations on turning insights into action with goal to improve network performance and customer experience.
  • Focusing on delivering business value via data driven analytics


 Program Design:

  • As part of the program, successful candidates will participate in 1-2 job rotations over 12 months. Rotational plans are designed to tap into your personal and professional development. You will also be paired with a mentor and coach!


Possible Areas of Rotation:

  • Network Performance Analytics
  • Modeling, scoring, and measuring customer experience
  • IoT & Connected Home Service Experience
  • 5G/LTE Analytics and Insights
  • AI and Automation for Customer Experience on Network


What you will be doing:

  • Work with key stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging available data to drive customer experience and network performance improvements.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Use statistical analysis, data mining techniques, machine learning to develop data driven algorithmic models to describe and measure the performance of Rogers’s network and core services (internet, video, wireless, voice).
  • Build data pipelines, prepare, and cleanse data to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Leverage large data sets to build predictive models, improve service experience and reliability. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model’s performance and accuracy.
  • Participate in stakeholders’ meetings to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Create data tools for analytics and work with team members to build and optimize the data science algorithms.
  • Create data visualization reports and dashboards to help business units with trending and performance
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems. 
  • Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
  • Develop and automate reports, iteratively build, and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs.
  • Conduct data analysis to make business recommendations (cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis).


Required Qualifications:

  • Entering your final year of your bachelor’s degree OR have completed your degree between 2021 and 2023 in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or equivalent.
  • Must have graduated before the end of June 2023
  • Passionate about analytical and statistical modeling, data science, machine learning, data visualization and deriving knowledge from raw data in general.
  • Excellent programming skills, knowledge of Spark, Scala, Python, pySpark, Hive and SQL is a definite plus.
  • Ability to correlate and visualize data sets, produce reports and dashboards, experience with Power BI is a plus.
  • Understanding of Telecommunication networks is an asset.
  • Proven ability to work in a team focused environment
  • A mindset of creativity, innovation, and energetic drive to succeed
  • Must have excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, eagerness, and hunger to learn.
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines, goals and targets in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effectively plan the work, track and report on status and execution
