We’re looking for a full-time, dynamic writer and storyteller to deliver the news to the listeners of CityNews 660 in Calgary. In this 18-month mat-leave position, we need your drive to win, your dedication to journalism, and your determination to be the best broadcast journalist you can be.


What you will do…

  • You will tell the truth, you will make it matter, and you’ll never be boring
  • With your incredible writing skills, you will make every news story an exceptional news story
  • When news breaks, you’re already making phone calls and writing copy that creates a sense of urgency for those tuning in  
  • Build strong community contacts so they’ll turn to you first when they have a compelling story to tell
  • You will help 660 NEWS become the #1 news radio station in Calgary  

What you will bring…

  • A creative flair that makes the news matter to the audience in both an authoritative and entertaining way
  • You know how to paint pictures with your words and create that ‘theatre of the mind’ for our listeners
  • A natural curiousity - sniffing out unique stories is second nature to you
