We are looking for a visionary and execution-focused leader to join our Data & AI organization as Director, Data Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will lead the transformation of our enterprise data capabilities—driving innovation across both cloud and on-premises ecosystems.
You will oversee a high-performing team of data engineers, delivery leads, and platform specialists, delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned data solutions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate across business units and technology domains to deliver data products that accelerate decision-making, unlock business value, and support enterprise-wide innovation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and inspire a team of Sr. Delivery Managers, engineers, and contractors—fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the delivery and operational excellence of data platforms supporting Analytics, Data Science, and Business Intelligence teams.
- Champion the migration to a modern, cloud-native data architecture, integrating AI and automation to enhance scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Define and execute a strategic roadmap for enterprise data and analytics in partnership with business stakeholders and IT leaders.
- Oversee large-scale transformation initiatives, managing vendor relationships and ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
- Establish and scale DevOps practices and engineering patterns to improve deployment frequency, reduce incidents, and accelerate delivery.
- Manage platform budgets, licensing, and capital planning to support long-term sustainability and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable systems that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities.
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities to consolidate projects and initiatives, maximizing resource efficiency and enabling scalable solutions that deliver broad organizational impact.
What You Bring
- A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and warehousing within complex, enterprise-scale environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing data products and engineering teams across platforms such as Hadoop, Informatica, Azure, AWS, Oracle, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with modern data tools and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx is an asset.
- Strong technical and business acumen in data and analytics platforms, with a deep understanding of DevOps principles, Agile delivery, and cloud-native architectures.
- Proven ability to lead through change, build resilient teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skilled in producing well-structured business documents and presentations that reflect clarity of thought and strategic insight.
- Demonstrated success managing vendor relationships, contracts, and large-scale delivery programs.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Collaborative mindset with a track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.
- Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, capital planning, and cost optimization.
- Experience in the telecommunications or media industry is a plus.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
