Who we're looking for:

Rogers is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to support the Enterprise Service Integration (Middleware) team. This individual will be part of a dynamic high performing interactive team, establishing a technical vision in collaboration with architects, technical teams, project teams, and quality assurance focusing on project delivery. It requires an innovative, pragmatic, and problem solver interested into producing quality solutions possessing accurate analytical, qualitative & quantitative view of technical debts, which supports in driving other departmental improvements and business opportunities. We are open to hire for our Calgary or Greater Toronto Area Location. Reporting to a Sr. Manager of Middleware, this individual will have the following responsibilities:

What you will do:

  • Be responsible for the quality of technical (vendor) deliverables within responsible domain area.
  • the assessment & review of the quality of technical deliverables for a project & end to end delivery of feature (including non-core components)
  • Review, validate and assess the feasibility of architectural vision.
  • Reconciliation of feature implementation to architectural vision
  • Technical support for feature SOX and Security questions related to project.
  • In depth understanding of risks, dependencies, impacts of proposed solution.
  • Tracking all technical critical path, risks, impacts and dependencies.
  • Evaluate and introduce new tools, techniques to the development team (Shared accountability, domain primarily)
  • Supporting the development of architectural framework and design
  • Improvement of SDLC and technical delivery standards
  • Ensuring development environments are available.
  • Providing the measurements and ensuring quality of development within domain
  • Provide mentorship & guidance to developers.
  • Environment feasibility analysis as per scope
  • Solution Synopsis updating & Technical Debt Articulation supporting project delivery plan with project team
  • Conduct regular code reviews and modifications reviews.
  • Sustainment technical work management for defects, technical, gaps and enhancements within their domain
  • Focuses on continuous improvement. Challenges the status quo and breaking paradigms to identify ideas for change and improve.
  • Provide direction and leadership to project teams & team members (i.e., vendors, architecture, engineering, QA, business and system analysts, technical specialists, other project leaders).
  • Perform after hour implementation of code (Deployments to Production environment). -Adhere to ITIL and/or best practices for application release and change management.

 

What you bring:

  • Telecommunication industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience in Wireline & Wireless communication industry.
  • Experience in software applications like Order Entry, Order Management, Oracle Enterprise Service Bus, Oracle Billing, HPSA
  • Post-secondary degree or technical diploma in computer science or related field
  • 7+ years working with design, development, and support/operation of IT systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are a must.
  • Strong conflict resolution, coordination, troubleshooting skills are a must.
  • Strong software development skills are an asset.
  • Working experience with 3rd party vendors is an asset.
  • Leadership experience is an asset.
  • Deployment tools (Example: Jenkins, TeamCity or similar)
  • Debugging skills (example: logs through Splunk or similar tools)
  • Demonstrable understanding of how to network and develop working relationships with various key stakeholders.
  • Synthesizes information into succinct, concise, and logical summaries and reports.
  • Ability to work well with both independently and with teams to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
