Fibre Specialist – Unified Fibre Planning (West)
Who We Are
Reporting to the Unified Fibre Planning Senior Manager (West), the Fibre Specialist plays a key role in delivering fibre optic solutions and supporting network growth across Rogers’ cable territory. Working closely with network designers and planning specialists, this role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of HFC and fibre optic plant design, and experience supporting technical teams and troubleshooting fibre circuits in a dynamic, evolving environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and deliver fibre optic projects of varying complexity, ensuring alignment with network growth and technology advancements
- Develop and communicate high-level cost estimates and network deployment standards
- Analyze and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Plan and document end-to-end fibre solutions, ensuring data integrity of existing fibre assets
- Provide detailed instructions to internal teams for successful project execution
- Review business and engineering requirements to deliver reliable fibre solutions
- Recommend design alternatives to optimize network performance and scalability
- Prepare project status reports and communicate updates to management and stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant experience in Outside Plant Engineering or fibre network design
- Strong knowledge of HFC and fibre optic networks; experience in telecommunications is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SpatialNET
- Post-secondary education in telecommunications, civil engineering, or a related field
- Experience managing multiple high-volume projects with strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with Rogers Wireline Access Network is an asset
- Experience in coaxial and fibre optic design, cable construction, and civil construction processes is an asset
- Strong presentation skills and a customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset
