Job Responsibilities/Job Functions

  • Manage all aspects of the Municipal project including project scoping, resource assignment, project plan development, project tracking, monitoring and reporting through the application of proven project management principles and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain all municipal project documentation
  • Manage initiatives at a high-level as well as having attention to detail. 
  • Identify benefits expected from initiatives and conduct post implementation reviews to report on and track results.
  • Work closely with and maintain strong work relationships with stakeholders (external and internal) from all functional areas of business. 
  • Pull together municipal resources effectively to implement projects. Orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish objectives.
  • Use critical thinking skills to anticipate and manage potential risks that will arise. Communicate these to the stakeholders on a regular basis and ensure decisions are made quickly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of templates, procedures and processes as part of the continuous development of the Network Implementation team
  • Interpret business requirements for timely and appropriate project delivery. 
  • Develop and execute project plans, including risk, scope, communication and schedules.
  • Identify, handle and resolve conflict effectively
  • Plan, monitor, and control projects from concept to closing using appropriately scaled methodology. 
  • Monitor project and team performance against plans and take effective corrective action as required. 
  • Build consensus and negotiate across functional organizational lines. 
  • Identify requirements for, negotiate and lead cross-functional resources. 
  • Manage changing priorities to complete project delivery within defined constraints. 
  • Participate and attend Public Information sessions, Municipal Meetings, etc.
  • Demonstrate interest in and accountability for personal and professional development




  • 5+ years of demonstrated progressive experience in Municipal Planning or Stakeholder Engagement, preferably in projects associated with the deployment or implementation of services for customers.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a business administration, planning management, communications, stakeholder Engagement related discipline.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving, coaching and leadership, presentation and facilitation, negotiation and relationship building and proficient probing, listening and positioning skills.
  • Experience in managing a group of simultaneous initiatives.
  • Experience in facilitating and participating in Public Information Sessions
  • Experience working with Government Staff (all levels) in reviewing Development proposals, Project plans, Consultation processes and procedures, Stakeholder Engagement, etc.
  • Completely conversant in Microsoft Project and other MS Office tools.
  • High level of energy and strong passion to lead team members to successful completion of projects and to ensure the delivery of a positive customer experience.
  • Great attention to detail. Creativity, flexibility and an ability to manage time and reset priorities in a dynamic environment.
