Who We’re looking for:
Rogers Consumer IT PMO is the backbone of our project management efforts, ensuring that our technology initiatives align with business goals and are delivered on time and within budget.
The Project Manager for the Rogers Technology Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the successful delivery of technology projects. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, mindfulness, and the ability to work collaboratively in a challenging environment. This role requires an initiative-taking individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure that project milestones are met on time and within budget.
What You'll Do
- Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
- Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
- Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.
- Lead a portfolio of highly technical projects, ensuring delivery on plan and on budget
- Negotiate with business partners regarding projects plans for applications / technology products including planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, cost/benefit analysis and milestone establishment.
- Provide direction and leadership to project teams & team members (i.e. vendors, architecture, engineering, QA, business and system analysts, technical specialists, other project leaders).
- Coaching and guidance of junior TPMs
What you bring:
- Deep technical project program management experience working directly with application development teams
- Deep IT software development project management experien
- Previous management of a minimum $2-5m projects, including financials
- Good experience in delivering through different methodologies (Agile/ Waterfall/ Hybrid)
- Good experience in managing large number of stakeholders
- Telecom experience is an asset
- Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Business or equivalent
- Creative, original thinking and can-do mindset – be our secret weapon of positive brilliance!
- Formal project management training, PMI/PMP, Agile certifications is an asset
- Strong knowledge of project management methodology and best practices (e.g. PMI, Agile/Scrum/Kanban), proficiency using Project Management Tools including MS Office products (Excel, Work, PowerPoint), JIRA, Confluence and MS Project and strong understanding of Product/Project/Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Track record of contributing to large, cross-team initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in office work best for you!
